We had our County Two Wood competition this morning there were sixteen bowlers who entered when I arrived it had gone down to seven after they had phoned and canceled, we waited around well past the alloted start time and the two missing bowlers never turned up and did not bother phoning, its a sad state of affairs if in a County Competition only five bowlers turn up.

Same here in NZ if you don't turn up you or your club gets fined.

If you don't turn up without a good reason you should be banned for next year.
At the moment you are still liable for the green fee £1. 'big deal'. It's not fair on the allocated greens when often half of the entries turn up. |

Not new, bowlers have always pulled out of singles, have to admit it's worse these days.
Like the idea of a fine, but if a Bowler rings in sick ain't much you can do |
