Happy New Year Everyone,

Off to the New Years Party at the Club, it's 8pm hear about 12 hours ahead of the North part of the world, when your clock strikes I'll be waking up with a bit of a hangover.

Competitive bowls drive on New Years day, always the boring sober ones usually win!!!!

Happy New Year:cool:

G'Day All,

Bowling in full swing at the moment start of Ladies open singles today, some very good bowling in the first round which is somewhat surprising, considering start of new year & Xmas lay off.

Reminds me of an old joke;

I've often wanted to drown my troubles, but I can't get the wife to go swimming.

Only a joke ladies, Honest!! (have to be so careful theses days, Yes the P.C world from the U.K. is creeping in here)!!!!:D

Hi Everyone ,

Hot!! Hot!!! Hot!!! should have seen our 'Green' last night, many stories that we are now in record temperatures, but last few days, drives you to drink the Amber Nectar XXXX

The pace on our patch has always been quick, but now only need a touch on a long jack.

Sorry to hear you are so cold in the North of the world, think at the moment would prefer the cold as you can wrap up, but with the heat theres is little you can do!!!!!!!!

G'Day Green, you are as good as a thermometer, hottest on record & were still bowling!! builds up a thirst.

Got a few Poms (on Holiday) playing in our comps, truth its to hot warm during the day. They'll have a tale or 2 when back in Pomey land.

Bars doing brilliant trade, great for me next couple of weeks on night shift so a bit cooler:cool:

Hi Skippy, I don't know if I could stand playing bowls in the Temps you are getting over there.

G'Day Kiwi Bowler,

Bloody hot they reckon the highs are breaking records!! Our club has a lot going on, we get loads of 'Poms' on holiday for the winter staying with families, all want to play & support our bar, so quite a lot of organized games/tournaments.
Sensibly they are delayed till late afternoon & reduced ends, good money for the club but taking its toll!!

Although I enjoy it & a bit of banter with the 'Poms' don't do the bowling any good, but they all want to buy me a drink at the bar, so can't be all bad:wink:

Sorry to read that you haven't worked for a while, here if you are in a job its busy and I'm doing shifts (great & cool for night work).

Keep up the Bowling

Thanks Skippy

Played bowls here yesterday afternoon and even for us kiwi's it was hot, we were standing under the shade rather that on the head, giving instructions.
Was so happy when it was over and went straight to the bar for a nice cool drink:grin:

G'Day Kiwi Bowler,

Although Skippy's moaning about the heat, it's HOT, saw him yesterday afternoon on the green, he had been on the night shift previous evening, bit of a rest in the morning then play in late afternoon into the evening.

He looked K**********, all hot & bothered, quite a few of our more senior bowlers are taking a break until it cools down, don't blame them.

Hope it stays reasonable for you.

Hi there Green,

I would love to take a break too rather than play in this in this heat, but I have a few competitions on at the moment.

I put plenty of sun tan lotion on at the week end, but still ended up with a very red face. One of the problems being a Skip, you have to be on the head to give instructions and advice.

G'Day Kiwi Bowler,

Just read that Green reckons I look K*********, what he don't say is that I stay in the comps & he's Lilly white propping up the bar!!!!!

Big concern about the sun burn and having to stay in the head, I'm on total block stuff, some old mates are having a few problems, so see very few bowlers with out the total block at the moment.
Had a couple of cooler days hope the heat ain't gone your way?

Hi Skippy, yes it's quite hot over here, but only around 26 - 27 deg, and very muggy, nothing like the 40 deg we hear on the news you are getting over there.
So I can understand why Green spends his time at the bar:grin:

G'Day Kiwi Bowler,

Green dont need the excuse of the heat to spend his days at the bar!!!!!!!!!!

Have to say he need the 'nectar' to bowl as well as he does!!
He covers all the 'strategic areas so I can bowl in for shot !!

Hey Skippy,

Have just read you enlightening post, cheeky monkey, you don't say how you are struggling to reach any final this year, losing your touch mate???8-) or the sun getting to you??

G'Day Green,

Thanks for that mate!!

Cooling down a bit yesterday and still in the Club Singles!!!!
Weather over in Canberra yesterday on the green was 39, they came off for a while, hopefully the worse is over!!!

Lots of talk about law changes, thing the view around here, while some of the rules are questionable, keep changing them ain't a great deal of help!!!
Think the bit about the min bias is a load of *** as bad losers always blame the woods!!!

G'Day Kiwi Bowler & All Bowlers,

Thought the weather was easing at last, our district forecast 'below' seems to saw it's leveling out at a few degrees lower.

More comfortable for bowling and the greens although hard, brown & fast
are in brilliant condition.

Have some great bowling;

Friday Warm to hot with moderate to fresh northwest winds ahead of a milder, moderate to fresh south to southwest change extending throughout the Mid North by late afternoon and the Flinders during the evening.

G'Day Skippy,

You've been playing with the Poms too much, all we hear is the whining!!!

You need to get back in the bar, you know the saying;
Only dogs & Englishmen, Out in the Midday Sun!!
