where do i stand

I am pretty new to Bowling, and have been getting a lot of advice on where to stand on the mat,, when i deliver my bowl if i want a long wood to stand at the front if i want a short wood stand at the back,of the mat, i am getting really confused, :confused:can anyone help, :confused:

i stand with both feet on the front end of the mat for all my shots ,just make sure you dont foot fault

Thats a hard one, every Bowler has his own way of standing, the best thing you can do is get a bowls tape and watch how the professionals, do it good luck, with the bowling.;)

Hi, I think to start with more or less stand in the middle of the mat pointing your feet in the direction you are bowling. The swing of your arm will vary depending on whether it's a short or long jack you are bowling to.

Yes think you are right, thats the way we were taught to stand, we had five weeks coaching before we were allowed to play, you had to point your feet in the direction you were going to deliver the wood, its a miracle i did not give up the coaching was very boring.:(:(
