Know a lot of Ladies have been hoping for a long time that Bowls England would see sense and change the ruling on giving the mat away,
Seems that there is a resolution going to be voted on but we wont see any changes until 2011,
Think I have got this right

Cant come soon enough for me anyone else heard of any new changes that are being voted on,

Its only a proposal to change the law that is to be revued by the World Bowls next year and if passed will be in for the 2011 season. For more information log onto BE site.

Hi Umpire,

Thanks for clarification, we reckon this comes from the wingeing Poms! everytime they lose its the, settings, straight woods, etc etc!!!

Sure 'World Bowls' will chuck it out and as usual tell the Poms to stop moaning and get practicing!!!
G'day

Hi Peter, well said,

I reckon this thread should be DELETED!!!, we in OZ just get on and enjoy our bowls, we do have a few losers how moan about anything including 'straight woods' giving mat away, wrong settings etc etc!!!!

Lets stop moaning, delete the thread and enjoy and embrace the laws of bowls.:D

Skippy, I think that you should take a gander at the proposals put foreward by your own people ( all 16 pages of them )

These include,
Setting the jack at 21 metres again, Not giving the mat away etc etc etc,:roll::roll:

Kettle, Pot, Black, ho ho bloody ho.

G'Day Kiwi Bowler,

Attached is the link to see the Pom's winging, you know the usual straight woods etc, giving mat away etc, can't believe your government is easing the rules to let more Poms in, ie a bit of money to invest in the old economy, can't believe that you need it that bad!!!:D:D
We reckon that they want to keep changing the rules so that they can win something!!!

Good evening Kiwi Bowler, the Australian site is

http://www.bowlsaustralia.com.au/fil

I do not know what that other fellow is going on about the proposals being for the poms wait until you read what his mob has sent in. If you decide to read all 16 pages I would settle down to have your intellegence insulted. Nothing new from them of course, had 1st hand experience when I spent 6 months trying to teach them Naval Gunnery at HMS Cambridge in 1956.

At that time we had Kiwis, ( nicest people that you could serve with ) Israelis, Egyptians and the other lot. Geuss who where the worst.

G'Day all & the Umpire,

Sorry if I have said something that has hit a bit of a nerve Umpire' it's just as it seems here, :(

Sure you know our Chairman of Umpires spoke a lot of sense;

RVBA chairman of umpires Ian Bolch said in general he was against continually tinkering with the rules. "The more you change the rules, the more you are likely to have people dissatisfied

Couldn't have said it better, as Australia ( who have the most votes as we are by far the larger bowling nation, with a bit of help with the Kiwis will dictate the outcome!!

Have a beer & chill out, its only a great game:cool::cool:

G'Day Kiwi Bowler,

Guess we can't all be perfect, fact is nearly all of us can trace back to the Poms.

Its just a sore spot for quite a few of us as we have several first generation in my club, and can they whinge. Never happy always picking of something and somebody. And if they lose (which is quite often) its the rules etc etc etc etc etc etc.
Umpire sounds like one of them!! just a joke Umpire!!!!!:D I like your knowledge, just a bit!

G'Day again Umpire,

Now Umpire, my mates log onto this site and will be amassed that Ive found an Umpire with a sense of humor!!!!!
They will be waiting in the Bar tomorrow night with a quip or 2 at ME!!

Pity you ain't still out here trying to train us Ozzie's, hope they lead you a merry dance!!!
We could have had a game of bowls at 21 meters, maybe you would be able to learn something and help the Poms to win something!!!:D:D

G'Day Umpire,

Wheres all this coming from??

Me Mates at the Bar last night reckon this Terry Pratchard has got us fair dinkum, and the Poms can do 2 things at once, Lose & Whinge!

Must understand this is not me but my fellow bowlers at the bar!

Our new bar steward is Spanish & been out here a couple of years,
he remembers the Poms all smiles a few years ago:D buying up all of Spain, the Poms took the stupid decision not to join the euro, now the £ collapsed all the Poms want to leave Spain as their Brit pensions have lost all value etc et he reckons he can hear the wingeing from OZ:(

On a positive note our bowling comps are in full blast with the clubs putting up decent money, a lot of poms are out here participating, most are great fun and joining in the banter!!

Happy Bowling & Umpiring

:)Hi Umpire, I remember you leaving, quite a shock after all the work you put in. Things are going well here now maybe it's 'cos we don't worry where the jack is, of course it would help some if it was nearer but you don't find too many of them here. Thought I might have a few questions asked when I joined as I was asked but here I am. Love to wife. Terry

G'Day All,

Just to let you know me and Skippy are having a BIG run in our local tournament, he reckons the little wind up hes had on this site has helped his bowling, well it takes all sorts.

He loves the Poms really and has not stopped talking at the bar how he managed to wind a few up!!! so had a look myself.

We are in the BIG money if we win are next 2 games, no doubt you will be rooting for us:D

G'Day Kiwi Bowler,

Thanks for the post, Skippy put it on cause he reckons it will keep the Poms quiet.

Nothing wrong with the genuine cases but you & I know when they claim the old disability then Bowl every day & get to National finals it's taken the Pi** especially like many of us at the moment working 12 hour shifts then fit bowling in!!

Still even worse in Pom land the say they have whole city's on it, mention a 'job' & there would be riots!!!!!!:D

G'Day All,

Expect you will be pleased to hear that me & Green did not win the open pairs:( but came runners up, good news prize for us 900 dollars.8-)

To be fair Umpire we do have a bit of abuse of the old benefits out here but the Poms say not so widespread as in England, still its a serious subject, would really do the head in if I was playing in a tournament if the opponent was claiming disability and could put up with the heat and bowl all week, whilst I have to bowl all day and work a shift at night on a couple of the days, ain't right!

What a sence of humour!!!8-)

Hope you like this that Green has just sent me;

Should the UK adopt The Euro?

A cross-section survey of 1000 people in the UK, made up of Afghans,Albanians, Pakistanis, Indians, Poles, Iraqis, Somalis, Bosnians, Turks, Moldovans, Latvians, Lithuanians, Bangladeshis, Ethiopians, Russians, Congolese, Zimbabweans, Portuguese and Nigerians were asked if they thought Britain should change its currency toEuro.
99.9% said no, they were happy with the Giro.

Thanks for info on 'Umpire', we had a bit of banter but he's gone a bit quiet since we posted a bit about 'benefits'!!!!!!!!!!:)

Guess he's out looking for some tigers!!

:)Hiya Skippy, nice to see someone is getting the heat, rotten here this week. Watched the wife play this morningin the league, we won 12-2 and stay top of the league. I can't play till January as I've had a cartlidge op. and still get pain when I put weight on it but it gets better every day.
Still raining hard but not cold. Have a good Xmas mate, think of me in the uk up to ****** in snow Terry

G'Day Terry,

Sorry to hear about the Op, my mate Green had the same thing last year, he's playing even better (couldn't be that hard). He had 'key hole' surgery, I tell him must have been a big key as he's a big b********.
Still he's feeling the heat, sounds like the bowling going well. hear the standard ain't bad out in Spain!.

Have a great one:D:D

Hi Kiwi Bowler,

Noticed 'Umpire' posted this earlier, think he knows;

Its only a proposal to change the law that is to be revued by the World Bowls next year and if passed will be in for the 2011 season. For more information log onto BE site

My own view I don't think it helps bowls in general tinkering with the rules as predominantly older people play bowls, they are more reluctant to change!!!!

As to giving the mat away an awful lot of Bowlers think it was a silly rule change but you now what's it like from the moaners; Straight woods, giving the mat away, playing in greys, length of jack etc etc etc:eek:

Very Very good Umpire. always said you had a sense of humor 'somewhere'. Even my mate Green broke into a smile!!!!!

Didn't realize you were so domesticated, don't overdo it and have a great Xmas & New Year!!! Were all set for the holidays and have had a few rehearsals at the Club. Met several Poms yesterday out for the holidays trying to get a roll up in the heat, we played against a rink they made up, needless to say who won, but was great fun & appreciation of both sides!!!
