why do all you english lads and lassies use the term woods when wood is no longer used for making bowls,,,,,,up here ,or down there if you live in the shetlands they are called bowls,,,or in some places not so far from me ,they are named bools just a thought ,,,,:confused:

Dont think Bools has the same ring to it, just going for a game of Bools, not a good idea.:D:D

its the way you say it ,maybe not a good idea in your part of the country,but it works for us:)

Yes think i could just imagin that with a Scottish accent, used to have a mate with a real old pair of brown woods, not sure what they were made of but they sure could find the jack, might not have been legal,did not dare ask him he was a big chap.;);)

Sorry about that, was'nt thinking about Sclotland, must have been tired, would have sounded very posh with a London or Bath accent, just right for over the border, bit of rain hear not good for todays game, only playing a friendly, good fun.:D :D

Ive hear bowls or bools, called a lot more names than this, over the season, but they are unprintable, getting in trouble again:p:p
