Hi Everyone
Know I am stirring it but now that we are all one organization Bowls England
We should have the same rules as the men, watched a County Singles final this week and the player had the longest untidy straggly hair which matched his untidy beard,
As I have been taken aside in a Lady's competition and told I must tie back my hair which is just below shoulder length,
If this Player can get away with it and not be told off why should I have to conform,
Same rules for everyone

Got to say this Barbie, but I don't think you've got much to worry about haven't seen many men in our division with long hair or any hair come to think about it me included,
Do get your point about having the same rules as the men, the Ladies can get very picky about dress code and I see why you could get annoyed,

I wish that I had some hair to comb let alone tie back.
Hi Umpire and Surfer
Haven't seen many Bowlers with bare heads this summer, everyone is wearing peaked caps or floppy hats, got a few who look like flowerpot men with their hair sticking out round the bottom,
I do think the dress code for some of the bowlers is slipping we have one who comes to games in gray or so called gray jogging bottoms,
He is a very large chap and what he looks like well????
But they are a sort of gray no one in charge has said anything this year, if it was a Lady we would get told off straight away.
Oh by the way a lot of my friends say Bald Men are more attractive,

Hi Mary,
Could you tell the wife that women find bald men attractive!! she keeps on about my shinny top even thought of wearing a wig because she keeps on!!!
On a serious note it's would be discrimination these days if men can bowl with long hair and women have to tit their hair back!!!
I think it's just to make me jealous:(

Morning Frankie
I think men with a little less hair are more interesting, hate the really good looking guys who think they are gods gift,
Back to the long hair and rules for the ladies, we had one girl a few years back who was always getting in trouble wearing too big earrings hair
you name it she got told off, think the ladies on Committee were just jealous,
She had a novel way of getting her own back she started turning up for matches not wearing a bra, and told they when they complained show
me the rules that say Ive got to wear one,
Caused a lot of amusement and raised eyebrows talk of the County,

Saying that some of the men in my Bowling Club could well use a bra a large one at that,
Keeps their rounded waistline company,

Got one man who wears braces at least he doesn't have his stomach hanging over his belt,
Sorry getting personal now, us girls are all slim and beautiful and not one of us over eight stone,

Hi All Weight Watchers!!!
Feels like a bowlers tea coming on, all this talk of slim figures is making me hungry!!!
On a bit of a serious note I find running around from green to green then 21 ends etc + a couple of trial ends I'm as thin as an old rake!!! Just don't know how some of the (dare I say) more portly men get portly) and don't believe the story of 32 inch waist from whitwell bowler more like a 32 inch thigh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning Whitwell Bowler,
Know you were only joking cant resist teasing you men, you bite every time,
We had a couple of home baked Cakes go missing from the Club Freezer and one of our more larger Ladies had a pair of trousers go missing from the Ladies changing rooms,
The joke round the Club is we are looking for a Bowler with a lot of cream round his face who needs to put on weight so he can fit into her Trousers,
Good to have a bit of Fun

Oldie will love you forever, down here in Cornwall when we have faith teas in my Club anyway, its sandwiches sausages rolls toucher's and fruit bread,
We get more than our fair share of Mens Touring teams because they appreciate a full tea, and most important the bar,
We hear the complaints about other Clubs who only have tea and biscuits,
Couldn't survive without the revenue these teams bring bit of a decline in recent years so we are playing more local friendlies to help Clubs survive the lean times,

You got me there Snapper! :p Wish we had teas like you have at your club. We just have a cupper and biscuits. Mind if we did my 32 inch waist would soon be expanding! Would have to get elasticated waist bands in my trousers! ;)
Nice one oldie about my thighs! Its true, but its all muscle! ha ha! :D

Hi All,
Love the banter & couldn't resist the 32 inch thigh of poor old whitwell bowler!!!
Trouble is the skip Ive been bowling with for years always says, 1 YARD even if it's 2 yards 4 foot etc etc etc, so you can see when someone says a '32 inch' waist, could be a yard either way, if you see what I mean!!!
I think the decline of touring sides is general the world over can blame so many factors I think they all play a part. Of to buy a video cam!!!
This subject take me back a few years can remember having very long hair,
And if I remember right Hubby's waist was a 34 inch, thats long gone along with his hair its just a distant memory,
Have given him the nickname Homer after Homer Simpson Ha Ha, hope he reads this.:D;)

Hi Surfer, Well done for winning the singles!! Wish i could win something! ha ha! Hope you didnt have to many beers? I had a few last night as well..
Evening Whitwell Bowler
Hope you had a good Time when you went for a Beer or two, no matter how hard I try I always end up talking Bowls when we stay behind for a drink at the Club,
If were not discussing who is going into which County competition and who will be in teams next year, to anyone else it must sound so boring,
Love every minute of it am so glad I took up Bowling,
We have our Closing day Saturday with entertainment in the evening I am really looking forward to a good evening best time of the year,
Are you going to bowl indoors Sam short for Samantha

Hi Sam, I did have a good time thanks. Our season finished last week and already had our green re-turfed! Going to start playing indoors in october with some of the members of my outdoor club. Might go and play indoors at another club as well but not sure yet. Are you playing indoors too?

Morning Whitwell Bowler
Noticed you are going to join indoors, I play at Newquay Indoors the problem is it takes a good half hour drive, and in the winter it can get very misty and not the best driving back at night,
Got the choice of joining a Club with artificial green and playing outside, in the morning they tell me its good fun but you have to wrap up well,
Not sure what I am going to do got to make a decision soon,

Know what you mean Whitwall Bowler I belong to a small village Club, but Newquay Indoors is much larger,Was a bit apprehensive on my first visit but soon realized I was playing with most of the people that I had played against most of the Summer,They made me most welcome and I was included into the teams Mixed as well once they find out you are a good Bowler you will be in demand, .

I found the age range playing indoors is much older and some of the players don't take the game seriously,
They look on the league games as a nice morning out and something to do during the winter they spend most of the game chatting
Drives me Mad

Hate to say this but when you are in the seventy's and eighty's its nice to have a social game of bowls.
Indoors is not as cut throat as out door Bowling a lot of members are only glad they are able to play at all.

Good Idea Whitewall Bowler always worth a visit to see how you like it ,some clubs can be a bit clicky,
I play Indoors in the winter made the mistake of getting talked into playing the short mat as well, my game went couldn't do either had to pull
out of the short mat felt awful letting people down,
But it wasn't doing my game any good.

Don't ever take a persons age at face value, played Indoors and the opposition Skip looked and acted about Ninety but was he good,
Know he Bowled our team off the rink
Indoors they take it just as Seriously I know most of them have beaten me
