Hi Everyone

Seen someone play with a set of Taylor Ace yesterday and was really impressed, they take a nice curve to the jack, am considering getting some come in about £160 which isn't bad for new Bowls,
Anyone else tried these trying to get some feedback on how everyone thinks they perform,

Got a chap in the Club who plays with Taylor Ace, only thing he complains about is not being able to fire and take woods out, says they have too much of a swing,

Hi Surfer,

Have a set of Taylor ACE's from last year, bit of granite looking with white spots, use to have Henselite Classic 2, found that my Ace's do take a bit of a swing but great for coming around short woods( with the right weight of course!!) firing is certainly different but prefer the Ace's.

Everyone is different & it's how you deliver them, for leads these Almark edge hold the tightest line I have ever seen!!!
They were selling Taylor Ace's at Leamington for around £160, Bowls Direct was the store, I think. Bought a few things and you could always get a bit of a deal on things. (they were less keen to do a deal on the Bowls).

Hope this helps, do find a lot of Bowlers change woods but its them in the end!!!

Played with a Skip who has these Woods last week and she was useless, don't know if it was her or the woods, after the game if I could have put them on a bonfire I would have been happy,
She did not draw one wood into the head the whole game,
Be interesting to see how others get on with the Taylor Ace

Hi Sam,

Nothing wrong with the woods if you are a type of player who can draw out of trouble not firing!!

My mate is a great drawer but no good a t firing not with these swingers.

If your skip is new to the woods then should persevere but if not 'switch teams!!!!!'.

Well E T thats what bowling is all about not firing all the time!!! Trouble is these straight woods encourage the heavy shot!!!

I have 2 sets of Taylor Ace bowls (orange & yellow) I usually play skip ad have no problems with either drawing or playing weight/firing.One thing I would say is that my two sets take different lines I believe this is because Taylor changed the bias of the bowls at some point. I find my slightly older set take a wider line.

Hi Howie54

Now you come to mention it, I have two sets of woods both identical in make and size,
One set I keep down the Club, and one set at home this is because I unfortunately set the Clubs alarm off one morning trying to get my Bowls Bag early, swore I would never do it again,
And I'm sure the Bowls I have at home play better than the ones I keep down the Club,
Now I find I am dragging one set around all the time, do wonder if its my imagination so am glad to find someone who thinks the same as me,

Hi Sam
With regard to the alarm - been there done that! I like having the 2 sets of bowls because it means if I'm practising I can play 8 bowls at a time. You can play lead with Aces but it just takes a bit more skill than using a tight bowl.My lead on my rink uses Drakes Pride Professionals and is very good with them as on most of our greens they only need about a yard of grass.I gave him my Aces to try and he really struggled with them. The Professionals are a really good bowl also in singles matches.Although I would like to see some of these straight bowls banned outdoors.:)

Evening Everyone

Managed to get my hands on a set of Taylor Ace and had a roll up, they do take a fair swing,
Am having a rethink about changing my Bowls I was having a few bad games, and blaming my Bowls,
I have playing better the last couple of games, my other half tells me not to be stupid and says its me that needs to get better, nothing to do with what I'm Bowling with,
And shes fed up hearing me moan,
