In the link below are 'My Red devils', well that's what my fellow club members say!!!

It is quite hurtful that when I win, often my opponent s say 'these straight woods are ruining the game'.
Whilst most players have a good excuse when they lose, I am an easy target with my 'DREAMLINES'!! or so they think, is it that I am just a better player, what do you think??
Do you think that all players should have the same woods with same bias??
Any contribution would be helpful to fend of my defeated opponents!!!

can i reserve judgement till somebody beats me with them,,,there certainly causing a bit of a stink, but to me they can be a handicap as well,,i would certainly like to try a set,

The way I play these could be usefull!! :)
How much of a bias actually is there?

These woods are not as straight as vectors, have a slight curve better suited to leads, i could not get on with them everyone to their own.:(

Hi All,
Agree with 'Wrong Bias' they can be a handicap But overall they are a big advantage to a front end player!!!
There has been a lot of talk that we should all have the same bias woods just different sizes, but I guess we are where we are because of the money etc invested in bowls.
Have seen bowlers playing on trickey outdoor greens when 'Dreamlines' pick up all the staightners and become nearly unplayable!!!!
Best of luck with them & hope you don't have to play 'Wrong Bias'!!!!

Would love to see that game, hate straight woods, you need a curve to get round, might try them if someone at the club has a set, just to prove a point.

Not sure about these red devils, any thing colored makes a good target, a lot of players are getting tiger twos, some specled, will look foreword to seeing these, this year.:)

It's funny when you see those bright YELLOW woods 'short'
they look like lost lifeboats, certainly not keen on the colour.

well 2 or 3 years ago coloured bowls were pretty rare ,in my area anyway, but now their very popular and if you like pink ,yellow, tartan, granite well go ahead if thats your scene, the only thing with some coloured bowls is ive heard that the same model same weight ,size, but different colour eg ,red and green have different biases, dont want to name the maker,,,,,the coloured bowl is made from different material than the trad, black bowl,,,,

I don’t think it matters what coloured woods, I play with, I am just trying to hang unto them in the wet weather, they seem to have a life of their own, really embarrassing, the more I try the worse it gets.

It's good to hear bowlers that are going to report on progress on the season performance, be interesting on how any coloured woods performe.
Have noticed our local clubs begining to open for the 'summer', several opened last Saturday 12/4, my club opens this Saturday 19/4.
Have had a roll up on my friends club green, as usual for the first few ends getting the indoor weight out of my arm. Looking forward to the season.
Will be interesting to see the progress reports!!!!:)

i think the best way to handle early season heavy greens is to get another set of bowls, medium weight and one or two sizes down then you should manage ok,plenty of second hand ones about so not an expensive idea

Think i will stick to my old woods, could not afford to change them yet, you would have to be a very good lead to play with colored woods, at least when im short they blend in with the rest.i never admit im short, and hope no one notices.:rolleyes:

Thanks for letting us know, how you got on with your tigers,it might just be the wet heavy green, they are allways bad at the beginning of the season, had the best day yet, the sun was out all day felt like july, had a great roll up this morning, raining cats and dogs now.:p

Rained all day, tonights game has been cancelled, glad it was just the heavy wet green that was making your tigers misbehave,it would have been an expensive mistake, if they were not right for you, have sold on a few woods myself, lost a few pounds that way.:(;)
