Have been looking on the news from World Bowls Championship, and I am pleased to say they have decided to play with the Traditional format for play, and not use Sets
I might be old fashioned in wanting to keep playing the game the way I know it,
If they had brought in sets for this it could have meant all Competitions being played in set
Good News for me anyway

Hi Peter have only seen sets used on the games that are on television, and they are always indoors
Wouldn't like to see them for outdoor games takes me nearly twenty one ends to get into the swing of the game

Hi Angel, me too, it some times takes me 3 to 4 ends to get use to a strange green.
Have never had to play sets, but have watched a lot of games on Television
Would absolutely hate it if they brought this rule in, keep it to twenty one ends or eighteen for triples
Why change something when it works:(

No couldn't cope with sets
Have watched it on Television and am only getting into the game when the set is over,
Would hate it if they introduced it to outdoor competitions, I would seriously consider giving up

Hi Surfer and Pops
Have jsut been involved with sets play and it has been very interesting. Played them in our mixed pairs. The first set we dominanted and won easily, however the next set it is all back to square and so any domination is lost. Another game we were easily beaten in the first set, but we realised that the game starts again for the second set. Sets play is a mind trap. You can't get too confident anduntil the second set is finished you can always get back into the game.
