I suggest they scrap giving the mat away

Get fed up with this rule of giving the mat away, the leads don't know what they are doing half the time and have to keep shouting up to the Skip asking do they keep the jack or give it away
After tweny one ends of this they are ###### Off

As a lead I think its much better to keep the jack, you have the advantage of placing it to a length that suits Have said a few choice words under my breath when this happens

This rule and the change to a 23m minimum in Australia from 21m, are hotly debated. 75% of Oz bowlers want our Domestic rules changed back.

The World Bowls Board meet in 2010 and this is the only time in the near future that any of us can achieve change. Write to your local Umpiring authorities and send them a clear message that you want them to act for change on your behalf

This is very interesting, fully understand that it upsets spectators who can never tell who one the end, especially if the score board is slow to be updated, and the lead is always shouting up and down. Against all that I quite like the rule as if I am struggling it is something I can change.
It can also upset the opposition.

So I would vote to keep the rule!!

When playing singles or pairs, I like to keep the mat, but if I'm playing triples or fours I usually give the mat to the other team, when we win the end.

But if we were to have a vote on it, I would prefer to go back to the old rules.

Did well to get to the third round Red, often wonder if its worst to get beaten first round or in the Final,
Am so fed up with this thing of giving the mat away, as a front end player you don't know if you are coming or going,
Would be a good decision if they put it back to the old rule and the players knew what they were doing

The Skip I play with give the mat away every opportunity he gets, but give him his due he sure knows how to turn the game around,
Seen some Skips who try having the last wood, and are completely useless
