G'day Snapper,
It was a journey but we ended up winning a Division 2 night pennant for Toorak
Hi Mickpallio
When you say penant I don't know what you mean, we play league games which are local
County games are the best in your division like Devon etc
National are the best in the UK

G'day Mary,
In Melbourne we play 18 home and away games on Saturdays (and some Sundays occaisonally) between October and the end of February with a month of practice matches beforehand and for the lucky about a month of finals in March.
Divisions from Premier Division (1 section of 10 tems), Division 1 (4 sections of 10) Div 2 to Division 8 ( 8 sections of 10) and that is for the Metropolitan area only, which is divided into 8 groups. There are another 8 Country Groups that comprise 2/3s of the Victorian playing population.
Victoria has an Open Pennant policy, since gender discrimination laws were brought into force.
Up until a couple of years ago the RVBA (Royal Victorian Bowls Association) was a male only domain and the VLBA (Victorian Ladies Bowling Association) was ladies only. Both associations are in the throes of working through a complete amalgamation of the two associations as we speak.
The VLBA used to run their pennant of a similar structure on a Tuesday afternoon, and this is also an Open fixture now.
