Every year I start out with the intention of not getting messed around by people who wont or cant play on the three dates required for County Games
I guess I'm a soft touch by trying to accommodate people, and end up spending hours looking in my diary and chasing down the club to see when the rinks are available,
If The Umpire is out there got any tips on how to avoid all the hassle

The Dreaded play by Dates
Some Bowlers leave it to the last possible moment before giving them to you someone said it has got to be forty eight hours, would be a good idea if this was changed to a week would give you more time Its really difficult trying to get four people free at the same time

The 1st time that this happened to me I asked the competition secretary to sort things out. To his credit he asked me what my next available date was and told my reluctant opponent to turn up or forfeit. When I became Match and Competition Secretary at my then club I made it clear to all those who entered that I would enforce the 3 date rules which I did. It put some well known noses out of joint but it worked. I kept the job for 3 years.
My suggestion is to read the competition rules asnd then go to the competition secretary and let Him/Her sort things out.

Last year Hubby had a lot of hassle with one Player who gave him two dates when his league games were on
Usually people are more considerate and this was a chap who is in our Division and would know
He did play on the third date which was a Weekend but had to drop out of an important game, can still hear him muttering on the phone
Caused all sorts of bad feeling
Can players give you dates that they know are league nights :(

If this man plays in the same league have a word with the League secretary, I'm sure he would not be happy.

Not the done thing to give dates that you know are league nights, I find the most irritating thing is leaving dates on those darn answering machines, when you cant get someone in,
And you have to keep ringing back means you cant get on and organize anything else

Hi All,
Can be very frustrating at this time of year, need to be knocked out of one or two just to ease my fixtures!!!!
Just too many games to fit in during May, if it rains will have to play during the night in the dark!!!
