Hi Bowlers

You have some very annoyed Lady Bowlers around, went down the Club this week and was told that the Ladies will get their County Badges like the men

Us Ladies get our points by winning or getting into finals or Semi finals
The men get theirs if they are picked for three County games its down to the old boy network ( Its who you Know)

Now we are being told because of the Bowls England Amalgamation any lady who has up to three points will loose these, and either have to win through to Lemington or get a County Game
If she has four points its the same as getting picked for one County Game Eight points count as two County Games

Do you know what us Ladies call these County Badges that the men get for PLAYING three County Games

What on earth are we going to achieve by playing and winning County Games

Its If you face fits you are going to be picked I KNOW IT AND SO DOES EVERYONE ELSE

Am seriously thinking of giving up Bowls

Does anyone know if this is the case for all Lady's Bowlers who have points earned to wards their Count Badges or is it still to be voted on
So far we haven't heard this if true its not going to be a popular decision???

Do I take it Mary that you are not interested in doing anything for your County, but only yourself.:(

:(I am more than happy to do things for my County, by playing and winning points towards my County Badge if possible
What I object to is men who are usless Bowlers getting three County game because of who they know
And I believe if you serve as an Offical for five years in a position that you get Badged
I have no objection to this as I feel they deserve some reconition for time served
You should wear your County Badge with pride because you have beaten the best in your County
Not Because of who you know What do you Think Umpire Mary :(

Hi Everyone I love playing Bowls whether I win or loose, got to say it better when I have a good game and win
But I should think Bowlers should go out and win as many games as possible, County or anything else
The Selectors for County Games must be more than one person and you are bound to be noticed if you are playing well and winning, it must be disappointing for Lady players with up to three points, who have to start again,

I for one am not going to change I love the sport of Bowling too much

Mary, in my County you have to play in a number of inter-county games before you get your badge. Due to umpiring I have only managed to play once last year so the chances of getiing a badge is very slim.

I am afraid that the old pals act exists everywhere in all walks of life.:roll:

Hi everyone
From what i have been told its not every where that this will be happening, it has got to voted on with both the men and women, so if you are very lucky some Countys are going to still have to get the points for winning games, but with the men used to getting badges for being picked for three games, I wouldent hold your breath
Cornwall has already voted so a lot of Ladies are going to loose the points already won
