View Full Version : Why do Women get the blame every year

Am jumping mad Its the same every year any damage done to the green at the beginning of the Season is always placed on Lady members
Last year we had people muttering, I do know one of the rinks was badly damaged but without proof we get notices put up in our changing room, who's to say that the men aren't responsible
There is a lot of talk that the ladies will only be able to roll up at certain times of the day and a close eye will be kept on how we deliver our woods
I feel like telling them to stuff it will almost be afraid to go on the green this needs sorting or we could lose lady members and we have few enough already :confused:

Hi Blondie least bit of damage during any Ladies games and out come the mats, seen some mens presidents games and they get away with murder, probably a good idea to get this amalgamation be interesting if they treat us the same ?????
Be a lot of Ladies waiting for the answer to that one:roll:

You know I have found that it's the men who do more damage to the greens. At my last club they banned one member a male for dumping all the time - he had had lots of warnings.
Hi Kiwi Bowler its really good to meet an honest Male Bowler, I know a lot of elderly ladies do bounce their woods because they don't get down
far enough
But its equally the same with the men have seen some dreadful damage done at the beginning of the Season when we have wet heavy greens
They make us put mats down on the ends to try and protect them I personally think it does more damage because the mat stays in the same
place for the entire game
Because your weather is a lot warmer does your Club still put safety mats down Sam

Hi All,
The Umpire is not far wrong, unfortunately, at our club it was the CLUB COACH and 2 male club members who did a lot of damage to the green when its wet. The Coach had a nick name of 'National Express'!!!!
Generally, apart from the green keeper, there is some tolerance as the dumpers from the committee and coach are near founding members of the club and still do an awful lot of work and near 80 years of age.
Guess it's easier to blame the WOMEN!!!!!

The very worst thing is playing against someone, and you can see the lumps of green flying up as your opponent delivers her bowl, I spend most of my time trying to walk them down without being too obvious
Have been blamed before someone said I was using tactics when I did this, You get told off if you don't say anything by the Green keeper and accused of tactics if you do Cant Win :(
Cant Win at Bowls as Well

Go on Ladies I'm going to say it, you are the Players that cause the most damage, seen our green after a Ladies friendly looked like a farmers
field, the majority wont get down far enough  Sorry:roll:

Lardy, do be careful someone might know who you really are despite no profile details.
Don't worry Umpire we are well used to Lardy throwing out a hook to try and get us girls to respond, bit of a lad and this is one girl who is not going to bite, never took a chunk out of the green in my life:roll: would love to see if he can say the same
Give anything to know which Club he Bowls for has anybody got any ideas

He would get hung drawn and quartered if you girls could find out, I for one wouldn't dare comment on who does the most damage but somebody does?
