View Full Version : Only Asked Because there was no one else
Hi Everyone
Am a relatively new bowler this is my second season indoors up until now no one has asked me to be in any teams or competitions
Now I am suddenly in big demand was really flattered and assumed they thought I was now good enough, after playing in all the friendless etc
Dont know if it was fortunate or unfortunate I was in the Ladies changing rooms and a couple of players came in, I expect they didn't see me because of the middle coat stand
They were talking about team selection and one mentioned that I had been asked to play and it was only because they were desperate because there was no one else
I was so hurt I feel like telling them where to stick their games, my friend says I would be cutting my nose off despite my face I do love the game don't know what to do Jane:(

Hi Jane nearly everybody who has ever bowled has come across this, you were unlucky to have overheard the hurtful comments
Go out and enjoy your game, they will be talking about somone else today

Sticks and Stones Jane, The only thing to do is go out and practice every day, get your revenge by hammering them in the next Comp you play

Hi Jane,
Would love it if it was said about me, what motivation to get out and improve my game, everyone has been through it!!
Goes to show how loose talk always causes problems and makes things go around.
Would love to hear how you get on in your first few games???
Waiting to hear FRANKIE:D

me,i,m afraid i would have confronted the person and told her to stick the team up you know where.how can you play with them again knowing thats what they think of you.you have got to ask for an apology or find another team,or you wont enjoy your bowling, not meaning to be harsh, but think about it,youl be trying too hard and confidence damaged each time you deliver a bad bowl.clear the air and see what happens

Got to agree with Wrong Bias
Cant live your life worrying what other people think, you will feel better about everything if you ask them exactly what they meant,
If you ignore this they will keep picking and your game wont get any better
Shameful way to treat a new member
Thanks Everyone for the advice I haven't enjoyed my bowling since this happened and keep thinking about it,
My friend tells me to ignore what I overheard, but its not that easy am thinking of joining another Club will stay at this one for the rest of the
Season and then if I still feel the same will look around,

Hi Jane went through something similar when I first started to Bowl, I was lucky Our Lady Captain heard someone talking about the nasty comments that were being said about the way I delivered my Woods, she went completely mad and brought it up at our next meeting, It really cleared the air never heard anyone say anything else, Don't make any hasty decisions:rolleyes:
Take it from a very old and experienced Bowler moving Clubs is not always the answer, done it myself over the years
Get the same problem no matter what Club you belong too Only thing is its different people :(
