Our Lady Captain has been phoning up Bowlers inquiring if they will be bowling next year, think the committee are divided on how many teams to enter in the inter Club League
Some of our ladies have been ill and are now recovering but how on earth do you know if you will be well enough by the summer
Think the Committee is divided if we put out good players for the first two teams, it means the other two will be weak had a good skip leave last year she got fed up being hammered every game
Thing is we only have four touring sides and if we don't put extra teams in some players are not going to get any games Know winning is important but surly playing is equally so

Hi Snapper,
Although I play for a men's team, I am in my second year to bowling.
When I started 2 other friends joined my Club at the same time, we tried
to learn the game together!!!
So I feel quite sensitive to the amount of bowling you can get as Both my friends have left my club to join another because they were not getting enough bowling!!!
The Club they have gone to enters all competitions to give everyone a chance to bowl at all levels, understands that the Captain struggles to find enough players sometimes but DOES not have people leaving because not getting enough Bowling!!
I 'm quite lucky as have picked up the game quickly (and good at creeping) that I get more than enough Bowling.
Have to say the Club my friends joined have always been more successful I think because they bowl more in depth at their Club!!!
Hope this helps

Hi Everyone
Got to give everyone enough games not all bowlers are going to be good and the mainstay of any club is the players who turn up and play the
friendlies and tournaments help out when ever needed
Not just your star players who only enter competitions where they can win something
Feel very strongly about this they all pay the same subs should have the same amount of games
:(:(
Really difficult decision deciding how many teams to enter, we had one year where it was a nightmare, had a couple of ladies with injuries and everyone was complaining because they had to stand in and play extra games
Some back end players ended up playing four or five time in a week, and with bad weather and games rearranged the situating got worse , Wouldn't want to be making the decision Sam
Unless your Club has lost or had a number of Players leaving, they should put the same number of teams in as last year Simple

What we need are more Lady Bowlers, the Australians have the right idea we need more open days in the summer to encourager younger people to try the game, A few drinks and a barbecue make it a fun evening,

Over here we don't have to enter how many Teams for interclub until the season has started.

Hi Kiwi Bowler
Our Clubs have to enter next years teams a good while before next Season starts can make it awkward if you have a small club and you get members who take ill, they end up pulling teams out Wish we could do it like you do would be a lot easier Surfer:cool:
Hi Bowlers,
We have the same problem as Surfer, because the handbook is published 2 months prior to the season starts. Use to be O.K. in the old days when Clubs were bigger and people did not move around so much because such little things upset them!!
As a Club with falling membership and just enough to cover the teams, if you do not enter enough teams you can't give your members enough games, in our club where the rules allow bowlers can stand in for several teams if illness or something strikes.
It is becoming more of a problem.
Roll on the WARM SUNSHINE and the smell of the grass on a summer evening, you can't beat it!!!!

Hi John
Always a problem some players are always complain they don't get enough games when you look at the friendlies they haven't put their names
down you cant please some people
But do agree the club need to enter enough teams to give everyone a good number of games
The best Bowlers get all the big games and more than enough Bowling but Clubs need to look after the rank and file without them we wouldn't
have a club
