Spent nearly all last week Bowling every day sometimes twice, am beginning to wonder if this is doing my game any good
Am wondering if you can over bowl I am not improving but getting worse
If you watch the really good bowlers they come straight out at the beginning of the Season outdoors and play brilliant
Keep reading books on how to improve my game haven't found the answer yet
Any suggestion Folks http://www.julianhainesbowls.co.uk/forum/images/avatars/7963.gif Angel:roll:
Hi Bowlers,
Like any sport I think it is a mental game as much as playing and practicing, then like any sport if you do not practice you wont improve.
So I think the answer is; Practice & play a much as possible but keep telling yourself that you have to be mentally fresh.
This probably sounds a load of rubbish but I know what I mean, I Think!!!!

Hi http://www.julianhainesbowls.co.uk/forum/images/avatars/7963.gif, I think you need to use your mind too and be more positive:grin:. They tell me I need to play more and that this will improve my game especially if it's against better players than myself.
On another note after seeing what Big Bear said do you need a jumper for your Angel with the cold weather over there.

Hi Kiwi Bowler:D
Think I was just getting a bit disappointed with my game I know I can play better and am looking for a reason why I cant play as well as some of the top players
Just got to keep practicing, I suppose even top Bowlers must have off days as well
Have looked out a big woolly jumper for my Angel but she doesn't go out much if I do take her out she gets well wrapped up
Cant have a frozen Angel the Weather here is Cold enough for Snow be nice if we had a white Christmas Angel:Dhttp://www.julianhainesbowls.co.uk/forum/images/avatars/7963.gif

Evening Angel glad its not only me that feels the cold, hate people who pretend they don't feel it, while I am shivering away
Got the heating on full blast tonight going to worry about the heating bill after Christmas
Your Angel looks fine as it is without any woolly jumpers

Good Morning Everyone
Yes I think you can over bowl, and your game does go a bit sure its because you get tired
Bowling indoors is very tiring and a lot of clubs don't have the right air conditioning or heating
But all the best Bowlers play a lot more that the average club member the difference is they are playing better players and their games are more testing
At the end of the day the more you play the better you will get am sure the secret is playing more skilled players

At present I would love to play in something because I had an injury a while back, I have noticed my name is not being picked for any games down the club
They know I am fit to play can only think they are using this as an excuse to keep me out of any important games
Not sure if I should have a chat with the Ladies Captain :(

Blondie I have every sympathy with you, had a hip replacement a while back and made a good recovery
You would have thought I had the black plague as far as being picked for any decent games were concerned
Took a good two seasons before they forgot I had been in Hospital might as well have walked around with a sigh on saying injured:(

Once they put a label on you in the Bowling World its hard to shift, I prefer playing forehand and if I can find the line and weight tend to play that side
The number of times I have overheard people say he can only play one way
Get my own back every time I have a good game and play back hand I say to my opponent you can tell them I play backhand as well as forehand,

Ive got the same problem when I first started to bowl I thought the way to go was to fire into the head
Got the idea from watching a top skip problem was I missed everything they started to call me firer and the nickname stuck
I now know better and very rarely fire, but have still heard people say he cant draw fires at everything
Bowling world is a funny place pick up a nickname and its yours for life
