Not a good day today

Went Bowling this morning and ended up in Causality with a bruised foot and broken toe
Thats my Chrismas and New Year ruined will miss all the Christmas Dinner and Dance cant see me sitting in a fancy dress and a bandaged foot and crutches
Its about time something was done about Skips who fire into the head this particular Skip sent his wood up with unbelievable weight
Hit the wood bounced off and caught me on the foot could see it happening but there is nowhere to go indoors
Its way past time something was done about this before someone gets more seriously injured

Real sorry Blondie what a time of year to laid up, with an injured foot know from experience how difficult it is to get around
And your right its time the powers that be had a good look about the issue of Skips firing
Firing indoors is extremely dangerous have know bowlers on the next rink having to jump out of the way of wood that have gone wrong Surfer:cool:

Oh dear you could have done without getting your foot hurt, you will have to send hubby out to get all the Christmas presents

Some men should never be placed as Skips they haven't got the patience when they start to fire they don't know when to stop

Only reason they do it is they are not good enough to draw

Hope you get better soon let us know how you are getting on

Really sorry to read this and hear about your foot Blondie and hope it does not hurt too much. It does make me cross I wonder how many times this happens in a season up and down the Country.

Often it is the lack of skill and awareness of others that causes this problem, also not only skips that try to fire, have seen it from all positions.

At our Club anyone intending to fire has to shout up the rink 'FIRE', before firing, it does reduce the risk slightly, and not all bowlers shout 'FIRE'.

My own view that firing woods should only be used in league matches. I know it's not P C today but the firing shot should not be played in mixed matches, it shows lack of respect for the ladies (expecty I will get into trouble for saying this! but it's true!!).

I know this does not help you Blondie and you have every sympathy, Get Well Soon.

Hi Blondie,

Hope you have completed the 'Accident Book' at the Club, I am totally against firing in these Mixed games, it should have been banned years ago, for indoor mixed matches.
If it was me I would see a 'no win no fee' solicitor, if you have long term health problems Make A Claim, if you feel he was negligent or without due care talk to the solicitor in view of Making a Claim. IT will stop this stupid firing and causing these injuries!!!

Make sure you complete the ACCIDENT BOOK at the Club!!!!!!

Very Good advice Bargain hunt putting it down in the accident book is something she should have done straight away
Problem with some clubs no one can find this book which is supposed to be available at all times
Wonder how many Bowling Clubs and members know where this Accident Book is kept ????

Hi Blondie sure we all wish you well, let us know when you are up and about again

Got a Bowling friend who has just had a hip replacement, and she is doing well the only thing that she thinks is good is that it is in the winter

and she will be better for the Summer Season
