happening again this year am going to change Clubs, Playing in the Club League games and have noticed not for the first time that I only get picked for away games which means traveling quite a bit
Some players who are on committee get all the home games tried complaining last year
Not going to get anything changed but not going to be made a mug of Surfer:cool:

You need to change Clubs, if this happened last year and you complained and nothing has been done
Bit late to change clubs this year, have another word with the Club Captain and see what happens
Then make a decision

If you are good enough to play in the away games you should be good enough for the home games, yes I would have a word with them:mad:

http://www.julianhainesbowls.co.uk/forum/images/avatars/7963.gifIn our Ladies League outdoors its much fairer one year we will play more home games the next year more away games
And keep the same team right through the Season
Know indoors is different they have more players to pick a team from and get away with murder its all about who you know if you put up with it they will keep doing it got to stand up for yourself Angel
Very Unfair wouldn't let it happen to me, rather sit at home at the weekend would fume for days better to get this out in the open than sit and dwell on it:(

Get a lot of this sort of thing with the Ladies, got one skip in our club and she gets rubbish teams year after year
She is really fed up but know what she did put her name down for selection
There was only her name on the sheet and it had been seconded
When the meeting started to discuss selection surprise surprise another Lady's name was there and we had to have a vote
But the skip shan't give her name won the vote at least next year she should get some decent players in her team
Soul destroying going out year after year and getting slaughtered would rather not play myself
Hi Blondie,
Good to read such open discussion on selection etc. Have found in hindsight, a good selection team, might make controversial decision's but have proved right in the long run.
The worst selection is often at Club level and often quite big clubs when friends etc are picked over promising prospects who get left behind and disillusioned.
When you look back over the years Bowlers give all sort of reasons for switching clubs, the truth nearly always is, Selection, Selection and Selection!!!!!
If you look these Big clubs with week selection, they eventually become smaller clubs!!!

Sure you are right thinking about the players that have joined us they have left their Club because they were not being picked for the team they thought they should have been in:roll:
Hi Mary,
New to this forum, I do think if at all possible you should stay at your club. Often seen how difficult it is when poor selection appears to be holding bowlers back, but if they can work it out and stay, I'm sure in the long run they do better.
There does seem more movement these days than ever. Do agree with most posts, that bowlers when they move locally, do move for selection reasons irrespective to what is said.

Sure you are right John seen so many players leave Clubs over Selection only to find they have the same problem at their new Club
Players have got to realize they wont automatically get into the top teams the first year they change Surfer:cool:
