Anybody recommend bouncing a bowl? - Take the speed off - Or are you always aiming to give a smooth delivery?

sorry to keep replying ,its not my intention to be a bigmouth (honest:)).but i think its wise to have your delivery as smooth as poss, its hard enough to judge your line and weight, without adding a bounce,,others may disagree though,,,:)

Dont worry its good to get a fast response! In the main I agree with you, I am just wondering as I know a few people bounce and - maybe there is something in it. For me Im just going to keep aiming for the smoothest poss!

Hi hello everyone, i would have to agree with you, it is so tempting to give your wood a bounce, to take the weight off but any good bowlers, that i have watched, have a lovely smooth delivery.

Just seen the last post, indoors you might get away with bouncing, but outdoors it is unforgivable, I have seen greens ruined, with large tufts of grass taken out, this is a green keepers nightmare,

its mostly our older members who "bounce",and it,s certainly not good for the green,i think we should purchase one of those new bowling arms for them, probably hit me over the head with it for calling them older members

Hello people, just found this site, bouncing bowls is a real problem, some people are not capable of bending, and some are just lazy, it fine in sunny dry weather, but when its wet, the damage done is shocking, spent many an afternoon trying to smooth out divits with my shoes, I think whatever skip spots the bouncing should take action, bit of a tricky problem, :(

Hate to see bowls bounced, really cringe when I am bowling with someone who launches the woods up the green, hate to say but is usually woman, will get hate mail after this sorry.
