Had our annual mens general meeting on Friday night

Only fly in the ointment was a complaint from the Ladies

About always getting bad green settings for their league games

They said they paid the same subscriptions as the men

So why should they always have to play on bad rink settings

One Chap spoke up and said is it because the Ladies are getting beaten :rolleyes:

Are the Ladies saying their opposition are playing on different rink settings

How come the opposition are winning games if the settings are so bad

Need to think again Ladies and stop blaming the rink settings at home

When you have lost a game

Was beginning to like you LARDY
But have got to admit if both teams are playing on the same green settings
And one is winning its not the green that is to blame
You have got to overcome whatever green or rink settings you are on
No good complaing got to go out and play better:rolleyes:

Hi there, it sounds like some of your rinks or greens are not very good? So over the winter why not work on them to fix the problems?

I find that on our greens the rinks are all about the same.

Maybe the green keeper should be shot, they wouldn't get away that here.

If you had Snapper on the green you wouldn't need to shoot him
He would never be seen again
Got to agree with you this doesn't seem fair we pay the same subscriptions and should be treated equally:roll:

Hi All,

Do you think that this is a discussion at many Bowling Clubs? have often found that the most successful clubs, whatever the settings, KEEP TO THE SAME SETTINGS EVERY GAME.
I suspect that Clubs/teams that complain have different rinks for many games.
The down side of course is the potential wear on certain rinks but with club games touring sides etc you can move the rinks around.

Our greens are changed arround all the time so we don't get this problem. It's a bit like placing the mat, we don't always put it on the 2 meter for the same reason:cool:

They Change the green settings every day at our Club, but they will alway change them back to the best setting for the Mens A team
Don't do it for any other team like the B C or D
The Ladies take pot luck some days you will go up and the greens will be on the best settings but the board will be out telling you which rinks are being saved for the mens A team game in the evening and not to play on them
Think this is quite a usual thing to happen over hear :D

When they change our rink setting's they will remain the same 2-4 weeks, before they are changed again. It all depends on how often the greens are used, but they don't change the settings around in the same day.
So I can now understand why you get annoyed and I would too:mad:. It's also not doing the green any good in my opinon.

Wish we could do the same i might be able to go out and have some idea what the rink is going to play like
Always have problems about rinks and green settings one of the biggest talking and complaining points in most clubs
The weather being so wet has a lot to do with why they keep moving the rinks
Not sure its fair on a lot of the players in the club

Surf Board Surfer:cool:http://www.webweaver.nu/clipart/img/entertainment/recreation/beach/surfing.pngHi Sounds really good keeping the same settings for two to four weeks our greens get so badly damaged at the beginning of the Seasons we have to put mats down for some games
Not sure if everyone has come across these
They fit across the head from where the mat is placed large net like mats which are pinned down stops people moving the mat
And protects the grass from people who bounce the woods
Can really disrupt your way of playing Surfer:cool:

Love the Surf Board

Absolutely hate it when they insist on putting the mats down got to play from the same position
Sure it causes more damage that if you could move the mat :roll::confused:

Yep the mats do an awful lot of damage but some of the older Bowlers who wont get down do more
Seen a few greens ruined after some of Ladies County President games
Got to be an average age of seventy five what else can I say:(

Come on its not all the Ladies that do damage, seen some gents take large divitts out of greens they are equally to blame
Every time a green gets damaged us Ladies get the blame:confused:
