Hi thought I would give you a bit of information I picked up today, went into the National Trust Building at the Botlallick it was really interesting lot of pics it shocked me because it said most of the mine workers were women and children what a life they must have had
But a nice change there was nothing to pay to go in,very pleased had a lovely day :D:D

Hi Snapper love the Pictures, Really interesting picture where it shows what it was like a couple of hundred years ago awful lot of buildings it must have been a great challenge to build things on this sort of site Surfer8-)

Interesting to see the before and after Pictures of Botallic Mine when it was a full working mine there were a lot more structures looks like the workers are standing over supports with a huge drop beneath them looks incredible dangerous:)

Got to admit Stunning views imaging living on a location like that, could be a bit rough in the winter but the buildings were made to last, dont build things like that anymore:rolleyes:

Hi I live in a cottage its over Three hundred years old, rooms aren't that big but its great keeps cold in the summer and warm in the winter. wall are cob two foot thick, they knew how to build things in them days,
These modern houses haven't got a patch on them, wonder how many will be standing in a few hundred years Surfer:cool:

Sure your right Surfer bought a new build about ten years ago from a large company, have never had so many things that were wrong, they did fix things but it is something I would never do again, some are like shoe boxes older houses have more room and character:)
