as i said before,no use with a white jack, and just think when they get dirty and scratched and aged, they would look awful, maybe ok for indoor ,

I cant get my head around these new white bowls thing, be interesting if they take off in England apparently they have sold out in Australia
Not sure if its a advertising ploy to get us to buy them, bringing new things out just to get us to spend more cash, I'm hanging on to mine:D

Whatever next!!! agree with Wrong Bias if the jack is White (which I prefer, don't like the yellow ones) it is going to be just a mass of WHITE, especially with my eyesight!!!!

Give me a sunny day big swings an a rink full of Lignans.

Today rinks a full of Straight woods taking a lot of skill out of our lovely game!!!!!

If I was trying to fire wouldn't be able to see the difference between the wood and the jack, think the next move would be to have colored jacks red blue etc:(
Who thought up this daft idea

If everyone played with white woods think they would have to consider changing the color of the jack don't know where it would end
Sure they would like us to spend more cash Angel:D

Brilliant Picture Kiwi Bowler now I know for sure that I wouldn't be able to see the jack
Would dread playing against someone using these new White Woods
Cant see them catching on but bound to get some Pratt with no brain buying them:(:(

I think if one was bowling against someone with white bowls, then we would have to use a yellow jack. All I might find myself drawing to their bowl rather than the jack:confused:

Sam

I have trouble drawing to anything white or yellow jack, if there were anything larger I would be aiming for that instead:D

That's an idea - they should make the Jack larger, so we can see it when it's hiding behind a bowl:grin:

Brilliant Idea Kiwi Bowler they should make the jack twice the size we would be able to see it
Might even be able to hit it haven't managed to do it very often:D

Hi E T

Starting to see a little of that at my club, got a new committee who have favoured some of thier mates, but with bad results. They lost, so we don't think they will do it again.

There is a survey going around our league to see how many black bowls are being used. Not many, The white bowls are still being tried, played against a state player who used a white set of Dreamline. Have also seen white with speckles, Green with yellow speckles and granite bowls which have black, grey and white speckles. All the manufacturers are bringing them out.

Hi Bundyboy great to have someone from Australia on the Forum, We can only bowl outdoors in the Summer and indoors in winter, so far we haven't seen anyone playing with these New White Bowls, they are causing quite a lot of debate a number of Older players struggle with white shoes near the jack and I am sure there will be a lot of complaints
We have yellow jacks but also white jacks we are all waiting to see what they are like Surfer:cool:

We have a lot of Colored bowls in my Club but still some black
One chap has a bright yellow bowl and he leads and is a fantastic Bowler who plays in the A team
But got a few that play with bright colored woods cant half see them when they are short
Mine are dark blue I am a bit of a coward they sort of blend in so no one notices when I play badly

HI Bundyboy

Really looking forward to seeing these New White Bowls whoever is using them will cause quite a stir
I play indoors at Newquy and we are right in the middle of our indoor season and all the County and National Competitions
Can get equally as busy as outdoors but I think it gives you an edge when you start the summer Season:D

I still haven't seem any white bowls in Auckland.

I would also say there is more bowlers here bowling with black bowls than coloured ones.

We have white and yellow jacks. The yellow jacks have been specifically made for our fast synthetic greens. The are heavier than the white jacks and so tend to stop a little quicker.

They have different jacks that are used on the outdoor artificial greens we played away one day,
And got caught in a Thunderstorm not sure if its true or not but when the lighting started we had one Lady who refused to stand anywhere near the Jack she said it contained metal and was dangerous
She spent most of the time hiding in the equipment shed Sure she had the right idea she stayed a lot drier than us
Think the jacks are heavier so they don't keep running off the ends

Yes they do definitely have heavier jacks for artificial greens wish they would make the ones I have had to throw up a lot heavier might be able

to keep them on the green:rolleyes:

Wish I could have some metal weights in my woods instead of the jack would stop them crashing off the end of the rink epically indoor
