Had an extraordinary General Meeting our Club is breaking even at the moment

We put the green fees up last year but the Committee think that we will have to put the subs up to sixty five pounds a year

An increase of ten pounds this is a big amount to some people, and for a couple it will be twenty

I know a lot of people cant afford this, but we do have higher electricity bills water rates etc

Problem is we could lose members if our subs get too high where will we be then, Has anyone got any suggestions this has rocked the Club Wicker

We are going to get a lot of this, with all bills getting higher, Clubs are going to have to put subscriptions up, or close can only do so much fund raising answer is get more members, Angel:(

Small Clubs will suffer the most, things have been a bit of a struggle for a while now,
Our Club is no exception we do our best, have a sale and book table which does very well but members get fed up buying raffle tickets
What we need is an intake of new members but how do you get them, Mary:(

Ten Pounds thats one hell of a Rise on Subs, the committee have got to realize a lot of Bowlers are pensioners and our bill are also going up,
sure a lot of clubs could cut back buying new tablecloths etc is wasting money, we've all got to tighten our spending Bigbear:(

You've hit the nail on the head would rather see the committee spending less on things for the club
The Green is another matter your club is only as good as your green
Some clubs are only getting by at the moment can see some closing which would be a shame Barry:(

We are going to be in for a difficult year they throw money at other sports
But Bowls seems to be completely forgotten probably think we are a lot of oldies who wont live long enough to vote, Sam:(

We are a very small club with no facilities whatever, and not a lot of members if our bills go up its going to be some struggle to keep going

Hi Wicker sounds like your Club is in trouble to hold a meeting this early might get some of your more wealthy members to guarantee a loan, our club did this some years back for some building word, and it was repaid over a number of years

Hi does your Club have to make a decision this year, putting up subs could stop new Bowlers joining

It would make more sense to wait till the next AGM in the spring and get a more sensible debate sounds like panic decisions Snapper:rolleyes:
