Hi, All,
Can anyone help?

Live in Kent and off to Cornwall next week for 2 weeks holiday.
We are staying near Penzance, as soon as I return have a couple of
finals to play in, so need a few 'Roll Ups' durning the Hols.

CAN anyone suggest any Greens that will let visitors turn up
and play??? If it has a bar it would be helpful as the friends we are on holiday with don't bowl, but I can bribe them with a 'Bar'.

Thank you in anticipation

Hi there

I don't live in Cornwall myself but I have spent a lot of time there including a few excellent bowls holidays. I haven't bowled at Penzance but about 10 miles away is a town called Redruth with a bowls club, (with a bar!) where I can recommend and if you continue along the road to Truro, a couple of the villages, Chacewater and Carnon Downs have lovely greens and very welcoming club members (Chacewater definately has a bar but I can't remember about Carnon!) Newquay is also a place worth a visit, with excellent views over the sea - especially on a sunny day, which are sometimes rare in Cornwall !

As far as being just able to turn up, I am not sure as I had friends who were members but here are a few details you may like to take with you to phone in advance:

Penzance : 1 Alexandra Rd 01736 351165
Redruth: Victoria Park 01209 314016
Chacewater: Falmouth Road 01872 561082
Newquay: Trenance Park 01637 850704

Enjoy....and good luck in the finals!
