Hi all,

As you know I started bowls this April, I was put straight into our C team.
Our skip is actually a lead for the A team (bowls that is, not the TV programme!)
We have been doing quite well, and are top of the league (though our main rivals have a game in hand)
Our own rink is fairly strong (most of the time!) but I have noticed that over the last two games A Team players have been drafted in to the other rinks.
Also our skip, who is normally very encouraging and easy going, seems to be alot more serious.
He was very critical of our lead at our last game asking why he bothered to play! (This is the lead that had played all season and contributed in no small way to our current league position)
There is no doubt that the club want to do well, but at what cost?
At the last game I had the number three moaning to me about the skip and the skip moanig about the lead and number three, I wonder what everyone was saying about me!!!!
I'm a bit fed up, I even thought about not bothering with the next game. We all want to win, I am very competitive, but surely we can enjoy, appreciate each others company and still try to win?
My other concern is what affect this will have on the loyal C team members who have been dropped in the quest for a pot?!

best regards..............Campbell

Get this in every Club, once people start moaning in a team,
You know you are not going to win anything,
Everyone gets fed up, it only takes one player, to start it off,
Seen some good teams, lose the plot, Silver:(

This is never right, if you have been doing well, with the team all season,

They should not bring in other players, unless someone cant play,

Looks like they think you have a chance of winning the league,

Not always the best policy to bring in players, from higher teams.

Your team sounds as if you were all getting along together

Always say its not how you play, its if you get along as a team.

Hi Cambell, don't know what your selection committee are thinking about,
If you have a team who are winning, what on earth are they doing dropping players ,
Not a bit of wonder, clubs lose players, when they treat them like this,Wet Gear:(

We all know this goes on, win at all cost, never mind the players who turn our week after week in all weathers, look as if you are going to win something, and the powers that be decide, that to win, they have to put what they think are stronger players in, has the opposite effect, upsets the team, and they lose, :(Angel

Only answer to this, is get on selection, and stop them messing the teams around,
Think you would have more chance of Climbing Mount Everest, Surfer:cool:

If I do manage to win, the trophy, got to clean it all year, if any thing like me, cant find it, one year i was sure i had returned them, but no, they were still missing, spent a whole week, going through the loft etc,
Decided to buy new ones, turned up behind the bar, words cant describe how i felt, Angel:confused::confused:

Hi Cambell, know what you mean, been promoted to the B team, such a relief,
The C team was dreadful, got a chap playing three, who thought he should be Skip,
Every wood you played, he would tell you which way to go, and i was playing lead,
Ended up playing dreadful, someone must have been watching what was going on,
Was seriously thinking of giving up bowls, Young Bowler:rolleyes:

Don't give up, Young Bowler, sounds as if you are pretty good, to be in the B team,

Some people never get that far, going to come up against all sorts of things when you play a sport,

If you enjoy it, keep going, And Good Luck,:DBig Bear,

Think Big Bear said it, don't give up, people will always be jealous,
Some people are naturals at sport, the rest of us just look on,
And are envious, Sounds as if you are one of the winners, going to meet a lot of negative comments, got to let it go over your head, keep playing Devon Bowler:D
