Hi all,
As you know I started bowls this April, I was put straight into our C team.
Our skip is actually a lead for the A team (bowls that is, not the TV programme!)
We have been doing quite well, and are top of the league (though our main rivals have a game in hand)
Our own rink is fairly strong (most of the time!) but I have noticed that over the last two games A Team players have been drafted in to the other rinks.
Also our skip, who is normally very encouraging and easy going, seems to be alot more serious.
He was very critical of our lead at our last game asking why he bothered to play! (This is the lead that had played all season and contributed in no small way to our current league position)
There is no doubt that the club want to do well, but at what cost?
At the last game I had the number three moaning to me about the skip and the skip moanig about the lead and number three, I wonder what everyone was saying about me!!!!
I'm a bit fed up, I even thought about not bothering with the next game. We all want to win, I am very competitive, but surely we can enjoy, appreciate each others company and still try to win?
My other concern is what affect this will have on the loyal C team members who have been dropped in the quest for a pot?!
best regards..............Campbell
