Hi Everyone,
This weekend is the Champions of Champions finals, we have a representative playing in the last sixteen, but despite our interest the slowness of putting the results on the EIBA website is simply awful.
It was last updated at 2pm Saturday end of quarter finals, the finals are being played and we have no ider who managed to get through.
Expect officials are still at the free lunch!!
No wonder we are in a rapidly declining sport.
Hi Throw,
Can remember not so many years ago, about 10 years, there was stacks of interest in National comps combined with substantial entries.
These days with minimal entries, don't think it's the reduction of reporting results just less bowlers interested and our ever ageing Bowlers:cool:

I agree with you Throw, the updating did leave a lot to be desired over the weekend.
I am due to be umpiring at the Nationals in Northampton from next Saturday and I'll try and make sure that the website scores are updated regularly and promptly during that week. They were very good at Nottingham earlier this year and so I hope that all will be ok this time.
No guarantees though ;)

Thanks London Pride, think my out burst is just the frustration at technology, in the old days phone calls to the club kept fellow members updated on the progress!!

Not trying to get into one-upmanship but I have generally found the SIBA and Bowls Scotland to be pretty quick with the updating.
Depends on the priorities of the officials attending I guess

At Nottingham they had two EIBA officials sitting at a laptop ensuring scores were updated as play went on end by end as well as keeping the five\ten end scores etc. for the record. There sometimes was a little delay especially after the Presidents Lunch every day, my that was some lunch though ;)
The Nottingham club also independently updated scores at least every five ends as they have been doing for several years before the EIBA ever updated their website.

Its easy for people to moan but what a grand job these EIBA Officials do sitting all day making sure the scores are updated,
Wouldn't blame them if took a little time off to let their lunch go down, be different if they were getting paid a fortune.

Not taking any credit for this as it's entirely the EIBA's doing but I hope you are all happy with the updating from here in Northampton.
I asked about the CofC and was told that the bowls hall at Hayling Island does not have wi-fi and so they were unable to do their usual good job.

Thanks for that London pride,
That's all good news as I expect there is a lot of bowlers with an interest that log on during the competitions for the interim results:o
Looking forward to the rest on the finals:wink:
