Played a singles game last week, ever thought you had been had, they had a ladies league game on,
So they had first choice of the rinks, my opponent said the green keeper had told her three rink had too much wear, and not to use it,
When the girls had picked their rinks, our choice was limited,
She came out had a look at rink three, and said it doesn't look too bad think we will have three,
S:(ome crafty people about, she is the Lady's Secretary, knew every line of the rink on that colored setting, still annoyed, Blondie

You should always draw for rinks,
Don't get drawn into conversations about how bad some rinks are,
Had this happen to me, got to be as crafty as your opponent, Devon Bowler:D
Hi Blondie,
This is on old chestnut!!
Rules are quite clear in any country, you must be offered all available rinks, or more ethically and true sportsmanship all rinks available should be entered into a draw.
I have walked away from opponents greens where the opponent has not offered a choice of green and tried to dictate a rink (always have been awarded the game by competitions committee).
Whilst this is always unfortunate, it is often the most experience bowlers WHO SHOULD KNOW BETTER, the maybe they rather try & cheat!!!!!!!
After all it's only a game????

Been there got the tee shirt, arrived to play, at opponents club,
Only one rink set out to play on, do you complain and unset your opponent,
Or grit your teeth, and get on with it,
Usually makes me more determined, to win,
If i get beaten wish i had made more of a fuss, Sam:(

Arrived at the players club, and only one rink had been set out,
This was a county singles game, he was adamant that this was the only rink available,
Two of the other rinks were being used, for a club league game,
It got a bit heated, so i told him i would phone someone in authority, and get the rules clarified,
He did back down, and we drew for a rink, not the most pleasant game Ive played, but won in the end,
Pays to stand your ground, and not be bullied.

Hi Blondie, just a question please did you play trial ends before starting the game?
Yes we always play trial ends, except in friendlies, where it is one shot first end,
The problem with people keeping, favorite rinks or settings is,
Some greens can only go one way, because of the width of the green,
If like me you like playing forehand it would be easy to find a rink,
Where the forehand is unplayable, and gives the opposition a big advantage, Blondie:(

Hate to say this Blondie, got to practice the backhand,
Word gets around, if you struggle with one hand,
Or have trouble on heavy greens, Devon Bowler;)

Had a friend who injured his right arm,and had an operation.
He played with the his left hand, quite an achievement,
Not as good, but can give anyone a good game,
Its practice that counts,:)

I never try and follow, anyones line, sure way to get beaten,:(Angel
Know i am going back, but is there a big advantage,if you have a choice of rinks,
Have seen others pick from a wooden thing, with something like tennis balls,
With the numbers underneath, do all clubs have this method, Jane:)

Hi Jane, yes most clubs have this method, if you are ever playing,
Make sure you use this , don't be put of by someone, telling you some rinks are not so good, Devon Bowler:)
