Someone who thinks he should Skip

This one chap causes so much unrest in the teams, over the years his game has gone down hill, last year he was in the b team, this year he is playing three in the c team, Its so embarrassing, he still thinks he is skip and takes over the team, shouting instructions to all the other players, you can see him complaining and muttering to all the players, the captain has moved him a few times to other rinks, unfortunately he is match secretary, and any criticism he threatens to jack it in, any suggestions, tricky situation, great guy off the rinks.:(

Got one or two like that in our club, one chap on committee storms out every time,( thats it do it your ---- self,) one chap reckons they should lock the door, he is a great chap and can always be talked round, just ends up doing too much, but one on the rink can cause a lot of unrest in the team, never going to win anything, tricky:D

to be honest ,i dont think it would make any difference talking to him or criticising him,he thinks hes doing the right thing,he is set in his ways and thats that now if you was to video him when he is playing without him knowing of course,impossible i know,,and play it back to him i bet you he would say good god is that me,:rolleyes:

Every clubs got one, wont admit there game has gone down hill, still think because they won something twenty years ago, they should be Skipping, if i ever get like this, i need putting down, problem is at my age my memory is going as well.:rolleyes:

What can i do

Have been playing lead in the mens league, just when there short, the number two is driving me crazy, even before we start, he is telling me what to do, every wood, feel like packing it in.:(:(

Hey Young Bowler, always get a few twits around think they know everything, talk to the team captain who selects the teams, he will probably know what this chap is like, whatever you do don't give up Bowling, sure he will sort it out, let us know how you get on Bigbear. :)

playing lead means you have got to try and get the perfect shot ie, just behind the jack and touching then try and follow that up with close bowls to the jack on no account should you lay up short your bowls are better placed behind the jack that way a head can be built by the second and third and takes pressure off the skip,you are lead you have both hands at your disposal no bowls to interfere with yours ,thats all you need to know tell him that,,,,,,,but dont be short

Why is it some people think because they were good bowlers once, they still are, know someone who keeps moving clubs, thinks he should be skipping in the A team, joined the club this year,and is in the B team playing three, he cant shut up caused all sorts of problems, thinks he is still Skipping, wonder what he will do when he runs out of clubs.8-)Surfer

Thanks for the advice, should be playing tomorrow night, going to have a word with the Team Captain, see what he thinks, don't think i can face another game, dreading it, have taken it on board, Wrong Bias, about the short woods, been telling me i play well, would rather be in the D enjoy it better.:(:(

Sure every club has a few,we got someone who had a shoulder op,
give him credit, he has started to bowl with his left hand, no mean feat, but cant get up the green in wet weather, still insists he should be skipping, and criticize every person he plays with, they should have been doing this or i wouldn't have come that way,can feel the tension in the rink, where do you put people like this.:(
