I have so many games to fit in and getting mix fours and mix triples free on the same night is a nightmare, so when Bowlers start finding excuses not to play when their green is playable is very annoying,
We had a game fixed for Monday at six O'Clock and the phone goes at five one team member didn't like the idea because there was light rain all other games were being played on their green so there was no excuse to call it off,
This was the play by date and this team wanted to toss for the game I did see red we did play in the end but what a carry on.

My club has a simple solution for the early stages of the fours/ triples - they force it to be played of on a specific night. You don't make it, you are out.

Simple as that.

Know what you mean, June is always a nightmare month with fixtures most days a bit of rain can cause chaos.

Some bowlers can cause quite a problem when they want to call games off when a bit of rain is about.

We have a Club that the greens drains brilliantly so I always try and play games if the club will allow and have room, which is a great problem solver if a fair weather bowler doesn't want to play!!:o

I think more clubs over there should be like Edinburghump's.

Here we don't have any choice and it works out ok.

Sounds like a good idea to me I am fed up with people making excuses for not playing when they have accepted a date,
You get the last min phone call pleading all sorts of excuses if they have a player who cant play get a Sub in.
