Skip saying his shoulders are hurting

:confused:Played an Important Mix Pairs Competition over the weekend and am now fuming, we won by a good score and I had a good game,
But when I went up the Club my Skip is saying that his shoulders are sore because he carried me, I have always got on very well and have played more than a few successful games with him,
But he has not only told one or two people but nearly every person I speak to is saying the same thing

Trying to work out how to deal with this situation

Ignore it or have it out with him

You have to understand that when the team wins, its the SKIP that WON.

When it LOSES its the FRONT END faults.

Been like that for as long as I care to remember!!!!!:)

In pairs it's a leads game.

But over all you are playing as a team, so yes snapper I would have a talk to him.

Kiwi - i did notice a dose of sarcasm in Johns post so I think you are both singing from the same sheet.

Personally I would have it out with him - you are a pair so you win as a pair and lose as a pair. It really doesn't matter who carried who - there will be games where you carry him (remind him of that!)

Yes I think its better to get things out into the open go and tell him how you feel and what is being said, could be its people making trouble
If you don't it will only be on your mind and could spoil the chances of you winning your next game,
I am assuming that you are playing again in the next round

Lots of comments happen in a game of bowls, trouble is some people are a bit more sensitive, especially when the game is tight!

A bit of banter makes a good team so I would say don't get so hung up and enjoy the game!!:)

ET- I would normally agree but from Snapper's post it seems to have gotten past mild banter between players.

My skip is one with whom there is continual banter of this sort but he would not tell all and sundry that he carried me - we win and lose as a pair/triple/rink.

Snapper I shouldn't worry about what people say I should think people will know by now what sort of player you are,
It takes two people to win a pairs game but get it off your chest and have a talk with your Skip.
