Have always found so many cloths/creams etc, often is what works for you.

A good friend always uses a shammy cloth and gets on with it excellently, I always put 'Gippo', on my hands and woods, then everyone is different!

Best of luck

Got to agree with you Bigbear, the cloths are rather small, i have been using hand towels, don't look very elegant, but they do the job, but will have a look at these new ones, when we get them into the shops over here.:)

Just ordered one of these new cloths, on line from an Australian site, was very easy, cost about seven pounds still waiting to see the postage, forgot it is night time over there, should take about four to five days to arrive, will let everyone know, what it is like when it arrives, if any good will put on the Australian site, footwear looks about the same price as over here, watch this space Angel:D

The cloth arrived to day, got quite excited, looks good, would you believe it, it stopped raining, and i didn't get to try it out in the wet, so don't know if its any good or not, paid nearly fourteen pounds, thats with postage, from Australia, my friend said someone she knows bought one locally for seven pounds, so i shall just have to wait and see, watch this space Angel:(

Hi everyone, yes it is brilliant, one wipe and your wood are dry, the cloth stayed dry all way through the games, worth every penny, made sure i put my name on it, things have a way of disappearing, never to be seen again, from what i hear you might be able to get them cheaper in England, trying to check this out, might not be the same cloth, shall keep you updated.Angel:D:D still did not win, need a magic one for that:D

Been keeping a eye to see how you got on with this new wonder cloth, heard a few girls talking about it, not in any of our bowls shops yet, would definitely give it a try, use a lot of cloths when its wet, end up putting them inside the waterproof to keep them dry, get a bit damp myself half way through a game, will get one first chance i get, price a bit steep, might get them cheaper somewhere, Blondie

Hi http://www.webweaver.nu/clipart/img/misc/angels/angel-fly.gifKiwi Bowler, like my woods dry, with this weather its nearly impossible, the cloth doesn't improve the grip, but dries the woods is seconds and stays dry all through the game amazing, usually carry six or seven cloths, going to get some more, still love the Angel:grin::grin:

Only problem with these is that I found they lost their effectiveness gradually and seem to go back to being like a normal cloth after a season.

If people would stop pinching or walking off with mine I might be able to find out if they are any good after one Season,
Took the largest black marker I could find and put my name on all my new Cloths but no they still went missing.

Someone must have a very good supply of these cloths perhaps they have found a way of getting black marker names off?????????

Hi All,

They're very popular around our way these new clothes but trouble is they all look the same!!!

Good idea to put your name on but expect if you leave it lying around someone will pick it up???????

Bit concerned over 'Howie54's remark that they just become another cloth have found them great in the rain this season, have to wait until next year to find out.

Just had a thought could Scotland have a lot more rain than us so the cloth has to work harder?????????????????:)

Hi Everyone,

Not sure about these new things, I use an old Chamois leather in wet weather and never had a problem. Not only are these new clothes so expensive don't think they last that long and if thay are not nicked.

My Chamois leather is many years old and is an off cut from the on I clean the house windows with, I'm sure is just as good!!!

We have got rain again today, so will be using it today - I think it's great.

but it's just a shame we have to play bowls in the rain:(

Good to know Kiwi Bowler only grumble I got was the other half complained because I told her not to wash it in the machine wasn't sure if it would ruin its drying power, how do you wash yours I had her soaking it in fairy liquid and hand washing it still looked very grubby after,
Pity about the rain but at least its not as cold as over here its freezing today, Happy Bowling

Hi Surfer

I wash it by hand myself using just a little washing powder, then let it dry naturally. Mine dosen't look grubby yet.

By the way we didn't play bowls Sunday as the rain was too heavy - it's been postponed for a couple of weeks.

Hi Kiwi Bowler,

Thanks for the tip, used mine outdoors this season, and packed it away with my bowling gear. Last day of the season was fairly wet so know I need to wash the season grime out of it but a bit worried that I did not damage the properties of the cloth that makes it so good.

Used to use a mixture of cloths in wet weather but know just use the new 'Pro' cloth really great!!!:p

Evening Kiwi Bowler,

Big thanks 'never read the instructions!' I'm the sort that puts flat packed furniture together then reads the instructions to find out where the left over bits go!!

Really pleased you read them I'm afraid in the U.K. we close late September and closing day is often a wet day, but the out door woods in the bag, complete with cloths then open them again next April!!:D

The number of Bowling jackets shoes etc I have had to replace by not taking the time and effort to sort out everything at the end of the Summer I don't want to think about,
Have been looking around for a small Bowls bag that will take only two woods but with wheels, does anyone know where I can get one.

Hi All Bowlers,

My wife is going to buy me a new 'Bowling Bag' for for Xmas! I know, nice surprise.

There are so many now with wheels on which does appeal to me as it's a bit of a walk from the car park to the clubhouse,

Can any body suggest a good type/make have seen some great arrangements but some say they are limited to what they hold.

Any suggestions would be helpful,
Thanks

Hi Kiwi Bowler Like yours my Cloths is still in top condition even after a years wear and washing,

I would also like a small bag for two woods that we can wheel but so far I haven't been able to find one, the larger ones are so heavy to lift and

pull If anyone finds out where to buy one let us know.

Its so annoying when this happens spend all that time getting to the Club and then when there is a bit of rain its game canceled,
Some of our Committee Members are not very good in wet weather they make the decision to call off a game doesn't matter if the rest of us are prepared to continue the game or not.

:DHi All,

Kiwi Bowler is so right, this is my pet hate, the number of times bowlers have borrowed, Measures, Chalk, PEN, Cloths spare woods etc, can honestly say the ones that have found their way back to me are the spare woods!!!

I'm just as bad if I'm told something ie; next game details/substitute needed etc, I have completely forgotton about it by the end of the game!!

P.S. Can always remember who borrowed what, once bitten twice shy!!!

Hi snapper, the only problem I seem to have is with my tape measure, I keep having to ask for it back from bowlers who burrow it.

Its so hard to say No when someone asks if they can borrow your measure, I end up going to mark a game and find myself searching through my bag before I realize I have Lent it to someone,
And then I am the one running around the Club :roll:trying to Borrow One.:(
