Know i am going back to the old bug bearer of selection, but got a situation, of players in a team, refusing to play with another member of their team, and threating to leave the club, do you give in and drop the player, no bad language has been used, would try the Patience of a Saint,

Have you got this as well, half way through the season, if not winning, they look around to find someone to blame, this is nothing but emotional blackmail, Committees should stand their ground, you only drop a player if his game is not up to scratch.:(

It's a funny old game, brings out all emotions, blame yourself/others/green/woods etc etc etc.
I think with bowling, often people can be older and less patience, you see fellow bowlers fall out, only for a short time!
The problem is when there are less skills, it's very sad, selectors either drop the disruptive person from the team or take the easy way out and change the team around.
In my experience the latter never solves the problem!!

I never blame the people i play with, you win as a team, or lose as a team mind there are a few people who would test the Patience of a saint, i just groan if i am picked to play with them.:(:(

Difficult if its more that one person threatening to leave the club, because of a player in a team, need to sort out whats wrong, change the team and see how things go, its a bit of Blackmail, if they get away with it one season, could be they will do it again, difficult one.

I myself would take the easy way and change the teams arround, as long as the player concerned is still in a team. If that's not possible then maybe call their bluff...and if they go, so be it.

I would tell them if they don't like the team selection they should put themselves foreword, and try it themselves, that would soon keep them quiet, if you give in every man and his dog would we wanting to play together,or somewhere else.:( .

Really difficult situation, you will always get people in sport who do not get on, if you can get a team who gel together, its a winning team, don't see why you cant just change the team, and see how it goes, people always get a bit stressed in the middle of the bowling season.;)

Is this the first year these players, have played together, did this particular player have any trouble with team mates in other years, this needs to be sorted, it could cause trouble right through the club, have seen it happen before, nearly half the male members, leave and join other clubs, and the wives also leave, some clubs have had to pull out of all league games because they do not have the members.:(:(

Given me some food for thought, had a hard look at the team, we have had this player in teams for the last four years, no problem, got my suspicions, someone is stirring behind the scenes, loading the gun and getting someone else to fire it, think this will have to go to committee, and be sorted, not a hundred per cent sure if i am right, thanks for the advice:(

This is a minefield mate, seen these things divide a club, need to have a committee meeting as soon as possible, try and sort out a solution, good luck let us know how things pan out.:(
