i have just bought some old wooden bowls which are about 55 years old and need a bit of restoration. Any advice please?
Hi Runciman,
Interesting that you have bought an old set, think it depends what you are going to do with them, suspect for indoor they would be too swinging and a challenge for outdoor against todays straighter woods!!!
I don't think I would bowl with them & I don't think they have a great second hand value at the moment (in any condition)!!
I would put them in the loft then one day they might be worth a bit of money.
sorry if not a lot of help!

Hi Runciman,
Have to agree with John, not much use wooden woods other than a long term investment!!
Would just leave them at the moment for the future!!

Sorry but I have to agree with everyone else, the older wooden bowls are collectors items now but I am not sure how much they are worth always a good item to bring out when you have friends round would be worth looking it up on Goggle and see if there is anything that will tell you how to restore them to their former glory.
