Do any of your Clubs, have trouble with Vandals, we are thinking of going to the expense, of putting in cameras, but do they work.

Got a local green which is owned by the council, just a short fence around, someone came up just before the season started, with a spade, and made a real mess of the rinks, this doesn't sound like your average vandal, got to be personal, they had to get surveillance cameras, seems to have don't the job, so far anyway.:(

Wonder what they did to get a reaction like that, definitely personal, wouldn't have been a neglected wife, heard it threatened a few times.:rolleyes:i think it was something to do with the lease or ownership of the land, the guy wanted them out, they didnt want to go,so he dug the green up,drastic stuff
Glad he doesn't own our bowling club, frightening, we have had a few break ins caused more damage getting in, nothing much to steal anyway, took some cash form the kitchen, had to get an alarm fitted, and a lot of security lights, did the trick no trouble for a couple of years now.:D:D
Felt like doing that to a few greens, Ive played on would have been an improvement only problem don't think i could drive a jcb:D:D

Our club is council owned, but we have to pay for the upkeep of the green, get a bit of trouble with kids, riding bikes, playing football, over the green, can cause a lot of damage, got security light which help, cameras are lot of expense for a club.:(

Had a bit of trouble, a few years back, got an alarm only trouble is needs setting every night, and someone has to go up every morning to turn it off, the odd person would forget it was set and go into the club, for something, setting it off, causing a lot of trouble, you have got to think these things through, before going to the expense.of putting alarm in the club house.:(

A lot of club's in Auckland are now fenced and have security lights. Also most clubs usually have 2 alarms one on the club rooms and a separate one for the bar. But I don't know if there's any clubs with security camera's or not.

My Club has nothing worth stealing, think the buglers would bring a few things, if they broke in, same goes for the green, only joking about the green, great bunch of members, can't buy what we've got, small village, club.:D:D

Had to get an alarm fitted, at the club, we have a bar, great temptation, brings in a lot of funds, got round the problem of putting off the alarm every morning, we employ a cleaner, who does the job, and a member will set it in the evening, it has solved the problem of break ins

Our club couldn't survive, without the bar revenue, get a lot of functions, birthdays, etc, we also have evenings ourselves, keeps the club together, without the alarm we would have struggled to keep open, have also got a entrance pad where you key in a code, but keep the main gate locked with a padlock, mind you they used to just clime over the wire,:(

We usually get the blame for any damage around the Village, but most of the time it is not us, there is not a lot to do, except hang around the car park, most of my friends play football, but i started to play bowls about a year ago, we have free membership, till sixteen, and they got a grant for the woods and fund-raised for our kit and shoes, love going up for a practice, and the club is always open in the evening, great.:D
Not everyone thinks, just because you are teenagers, that you are all vandals, so pleased you have taken up bowls as a sport, i know you will understand, how everyone feels when someone damages the green, nice to see some youngsters in the sport,so good luck with the bowling.:D:D
