Used woods

Hi, please could someone advise me, I have a set of bowling woods in very good condition, with bowling bag, shoes, and clothing. Its been many, many years since I played bowls & I know that due to health reasons and other circumstances I'll never play again. Please could you advise me as to how much I could sell these items for? They must go to a good home, they've been well looked after with very little play. Perhaps please if someone could genuinely advise me on there worth today. Thank you so much.

Second hand Bowls are often advertised for sale in Bowling Clubs, but its hard to say without knowing what make and size your Bowls are as to what price to ask for them
My advice would be to look around and find your nearest Bowls Club and give them a ring and have a chat

Welcome to the site, sorry to hear that you wont be bowling again, sounds like you are certain, although have seen some bowlers give up for health reasons but come back again!!

Sounds like you gave up some years ago, as Mary says without knowing the make, size of woods etc, its hard to advise!!

If you have a local bowling club it could be worth calling in & discussing it with the Club secretary or similar, the club could but a notice on the board (for free).

If they have a bit of value, E Bay is a good auction site that a lot of second hand equipment gets sold, if you have not got access to a computer maybe a young member of the family could help!

Hi Number 7 & welcome,

Sorry to hear that you are giving up bowling, good suggestion about going to a local Club for advice!

If they are old woods ie out of the 10 year stamp they might not be worth too much, but worth checking!!!
(these days to play in County finals etc woods have to be stamped every 10 years) bit of a money spinner!!!!

I am very attached to my first set of Bowls although I haven't bowled with them for a good few years but I would still hate to sell them
They are now sitting in the garage gathering dust but I'm afraid if they aren't the latest make and color I will get very little cash for them

'Kenselite' classic 4 Heavy.

Noticed your reply to Mary, would help to give an idea of the value if you could advise the numbers on the stamp which is on each bowl.

Have but a picture of a 'Bowls stamp', the 13 means that they are legal to be used in National competitions etc up to the end of 2013!!

Can you see a stamp on your woods?????

Think that clarifies the age etc, still reckon the best bet is to put a notice in a local bowling club, maybe the start on next season or the on line e bay.

So many new coloured woods being bought by experienced bowlers around £210, so quite a few on the secondhand market.
Should get anything between £20 - £50 for the woods, possibly to a new bowler!! hope this helps, value still on condition etc.

Thanks Number 7 would be interested how you get on, I bought a set of Tigers last year colored cost £205 , couldn't get on with them used twice sold for £155!!
Thats Bowls!!!
