Dreadful thats the only thing I can say, I played or tried to play a County Competition on this green this afternoon,
Give the Club Credit they have done all they can to sort it out but they are paying good money to a green maintenance company and they are left with this,
I couldn't figure out which way my Bowl was going to go and after heavy rain in the night you would have needed to be a shot putter to get up the green ????

Has anyone seen anything as Bad:roll:

You've got to be having a laugh Keith and trying to wind Snapper up, I don't know what sort of greens you play on but if they are worse than this I would like to see some pictures ???
What has the green Maintenance done to get it in such a condition looks like there is no grass at all.

The Biggest Problems in Clubs is the age of the Members most Bowlers are retired or well into their seventies and aren't fit enough to cut greens or do manual work
And the expense of paying a full time green keeper is beyond most Clubs if we don't get people who are willing and able to take on the greens I can see artificial mats replacing grass.

This Green looks a bit like my back garden

Just having a 'Dig' Snapper, its just that most bowlers who lose blame something, mainly the 'Green'.
Hoped you liked the pun 'Dig', Maybe thats what they should do with the green!!

Hi Snapper,

Would think with all the rain at the moment it's going to make the situation worse!!!

It's disappointing how a few Geens have deteriorated recently I think its a combination of falling memberships, the costs of maintaining greens and of course getting willing hands from the membership to help!!!:(

Although no fun to play on a poor green!!

I have got to agree with Keith this green should be closed and sorted out it doesn't look fit to play on,
It wouldn't be any fun in the rain but if we get a dry spell it would turn into a dust bowl ?????

Hi All,

All greens have their challenges, this one more than most by looking at it, then some look awful but play well!!!!
Sad for the club as so much work & money go into the green & bowlers moan anyway!! Hope the committee get to grips & it improves for next year:D:D

Such a shame to see a Bowling green in this condition I am wondering if it is diseased have often heard our Green keeper talking about different diseases at other greens and we have been advised to wash our Bowls and shoes before Play.
