vuvuzelas! ****** Horns

Calling all sane Bowlers,

Played in National top team Wednesday evening & played a 'lively' visiting team!!

3 of the traveling spectators had vuvuzelas! Thats the awful type horns that make the current football unwatchable!
Our lovely green is in a quiet residential area, you can imagine the reaction we are going to get with our understanding neighbors. We just manage to live with one another over parking etc but this dam noise is a different manner.
The visitors thought it was amusing for the majority, even some of the visitors felt that the noise is NOT bowls.
Looking through the rules can't see any reference to this type of distraction, will have to wait until we get a noise abatement order served on us!!

No No No thats all we want, would drive 1 or 2 of my team around the bend, you only have to twitch when they bowl and it's like the world has come to an end.
One of those horns blowing would finish them off!!

Expect a lot of clubs would ban them from their surrounds, I hope!!

Can't imagine they would ever catch on in bowls, hopefully they would be banned along with rattles etc, cheering is about the limit, then I'm an old fudy dudy!!!!

I know Ive often said I would like to see the game of Bowls livened up but these Horns are B---Awful cant imagine sitting next to one its bad enough in the Club House when we get a load of Women sounds like a hen house they are all trying to talk over one another,

I must admit I turned the television off when the football was on it sounded like a sort of loud whine did get on my nerves the noise that is not the Football,

I expect all the England Football supporters wont speak to me now:(:roll:

Well still can't stand it!!!! if ever came into bowls would take up bell ringing, at least it would keep out the noise of the Horns!!!!:(

For someone who can't stand football, loved the 'Hitler' clip!!!!!

Think they are all overpaid premedonas, and the pundits are unbelievably boring.

Give me bowling any day.:D Trouble is we have a few premedonas creeping into our sport, picking and choicing which games to play in, they keep getting selected, then the bowlers on the fringe refuse to step in, bad signs for the future of our sport!!

Also enjoyed the Link think it is very good, couldn't believe it last night I was coming home from watching out Mens A team play and walking past a house and horrors of horrors heard some youngsters blowing these dam horn things,
Sounds travel quite a bit where I live lord help me if when I am sitting trying to read my book will I have to listen to this racked all Summer,

Will have to wait and see If I COMPLAIN they will think its great fun and do it more. :confused:

Morning All,

Finished a great game of bowling last night, in a warm summer evening, drove home and coming through our peaceful village were the football morons sitting on the smokers seats seats blowing those awful horns the noise was deafening!!!!
Hope its not a sign of things to come!!!:mad:

Hi All Bowlers,

Playing a friendly tomorrow so will miss the football!! sad, never thought I would say but hope the Germans win so those Horns can be thrown away and we get back to normal, the drunks that is!!

Unfortunately they have been common place and can easily see how trouble can be started as not everyone appreciate the lovely noise..
