You ought to see the sort of greens that our Lady Bowlers have their trials on, have heard a lot of complaints they are given a sealed envelope which they are not allowed to open until they have left the Club,But us men have to wait forever to find out if we are playing in the Middleton Cup,

God help anyone having a trial down here in Cornwall played today on a green and it was shocking, grass looked yellow now sure what had been used but if anyone could get within four yards of the jack they had shot,

Glad I don't have the problem of County Trials

Hi All Trialists,

Its the time of year, heavy greens when you try to get some form, very good indoor bowlers have a testing time adjusting to the weight!!!

Can't blame the green or selectors a good bowler has to adjust to conditions and not blame the conditions as all good losers do!!!!:D

When we have a competition on, the greens are only's mowed that morning. I still remembers when I went to my first trials (as a second year bowler) at another club and it was so fast that my first couple of bowls ended up in this ditch.

I also wondering if your season starts too early?

Yes kiwibowler I'm sure our Season starts too early its full blast with Trials and County and National Competitions come August its nearly all over and we are relying on Tournaments and Club Competitions to get some Bowling, feels like Winter when we start, Bowls England need to have a look at the dates these Competitions Start,
