What a change Girls we are now getting a lot of our County Games on the Weekend like the men and arranging our own games for the pairs will make life a lot easier with games after six , Got to say well done Bowls England.
Pity we had to get amalgamation with the men before our own Ladies put these changes into place,

Surprising it took joining the men to get any change in the Ladies rules, but my friend who works can now enter a lot more County Competitions.

Morning Everyone,
Can understand the younger ladies in the past feeling aggrieved about being exclude from County competitions etc because they have to work, whilst men the games are arranged when they are not working!!
Still think the ladies have a long way to go, one lady who is a teacher has her tea duties, you guessed it, in the summer holiday period when she could bowl.
No wonder bowls is struggling for younger members when little thought is given to working bowlers!!
I know one Excellent Bowler who Works and has for the past three years gone to Lemington in a number of Competitions, and its only this year that she has had a County Trial,
The lame excuse used was that she worked and wasn't bothered,
Heard them all now.

Not before time that Working Lady Bowlers had the same Treatment as the Men,

Not sure where this topic comes under 'Spain', can only think that no one works in Spain & can bowl all Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure if I can even say that in these days of P.C.:)
You will get told off Bargain Hunt but I have got to say we Haven't heard from our Spanish Bowlers for some time, do they only play in the Winter it wouldn't surprise me because what wonderful weather we are having, but I hate to say it I played Friday and we were all wilting on the rinks we had one Girl who had to be taken off the green with heat stroke,
Not used to warm weather.
Down side to this is the County Ladies Pairs Competition can arranging their own play by times is I have had the wife moaning because she has to play her pairs competition on a set date, one game at a time and she prefers to get this competition all finished and done with over two days,
And now it drags on keep telling her you women are never satisfied
I have gone through one game in the County Pairs had only gotten home before my partner phoned me with the next game and time we didn't have a choice of times it was ten O'Clock, I thought this new way of playing these competitions was to give players a choice of time epically if someone worked going to see if this is the case so I will know next time

This doesent sound right Sam have been hearing a few grumbles from the Ladies in my Club they would perfer to have this Competition played on set greens over a two day period
One lady who works was complaining she has to get more time off work than she did before

Hi Surfer,
Uproar in my Club!! in the well intention efforts to help working women play in county competitions and spreading them on different days and evenings etc, they just can't fit all the games in & pulling out of some!!!

I Really Cant Believe you Said that Keith you must belong to Bowls England Mens Committee
But this arrangement of playing one game a day for the Ladies pairs is not good, what I want to know is why the men get
ALL THEIR COUNTY COMPETITIONS ON A WEEKEND OVER TWO DAYS,
And us girls are left with arranging our County Competitions over week days
,
There Need to be changes we pay the same Money as the Men why should they get better treatment.
Angel:confused:
Can see where your coming from Angel but its been this way for a very long time with the men playing their C Comp over the weekend, going to take more than one year of Bowls England being in charge to make changes.

My friend who works can now enter the Ladies singles and pairs which is something she couldn't do before so she is getting more bowling,
This is going in the right direction
Snapper from a wet Cornwall:(
Hi Snapper, This is happening around our area, lots & lots of moans, my wife has stayed in 5 rounds, so thats 5 days tied up, many prefer it on the day then play off on the second day.
Understand the logic about different days & evening time must be given so working women can enter, trouble is no working women in our area have entered & next year there will be far less entries!!!!
Hi All,
Unfortunately it's the time of year when ever one gets a bit tired and fed up with bowling too much!!! Little things become big things often blow over when they realize quite often the same bowlers get through again!!!
An old bowler once said 'always think for a week before you say something you regret and it often works to your detriment'!!!
Think sound advice!!!??

I don't understand this, is there a shortage of bowling greens over there or something?
Here the Ladies would like the Men would play their centre events over both days at the weekend.
Don't think there is a shortage of Greens I don't understand it I know some of the Women Bowlers are thinking of writing in to see if they can get this changed,
You would think the Women could play this Competition on a Weekend over two days like the men,
