Don't know what you Bowlers will think of this , we have a Skip who gives the mat away on a regular Bias because he likes last wood, Our lead
has pulled out of our County mixed triples because he says he likes to control the Jack, What happens when the opposition has control of the
Jack will he refuse to play, This is ridiculous if Bowls England have this rule Bowlers are going to use it,
This Bowler is going to find it difficult to find a Skip to play with him,

Hi Barbie don't mind giving the mat away as long as the Skip does his job and gets shots, some Skips couldn't hit a barn door would rather have a lead on the jack first off.

You know, I still prefer to keep the mat. I can bowl the Jack to a length I like and put pressure on my opposition from the first bowl.

G'Day Barbie,
That lead male/female wouldn't last long in O.Z. most good skips give the mat away these days if tactically it is needed!! A good lead should be able to adjust to most jacks, for Me I wouldn't go into a proper competition if you had a lead who struggled with the idea of giving the mat away!!!
Do understand that there are some elderly bowlers who think the rule does not exist and go to pot when it happens to them!!

Giddy All,
Keeps coming round, give the mat away, surprising when you give the mat to some of the touring Poms, it really puts them off their game, especially the older ones!!!!!
For me don't have a view other than giving the mat away is not to good for spectators as it confuses who wins an end.
Think the vote in October will be close, think what might carry it to leave the rule as it stands is not to keep changing the rules as that in itself keeps upsetting Bowlers!!!!!!:(
