I play skip and what type of bowl would be better for this position. At present using indoor bowls .

If you're playing skip then you would probably benefit from a fairly heavy bowl with a wide draw. A heavy bowl is handy as quite often you need to play quite aggressively. A wide drawing bowl helps when there are lots of other woods to get around, which is usually the case when you're the last player to bowl.

Your indoor woods would probably have these characteristics. My advice would be to play with them first and if you find it difficult to either bump opponent's bowls out of the frame or to curl around them to get to the jack, then consider buying some heavier woods with a stronger bias. As with most things though - go with whatever suits you best! :)

Hi and Welcome JD67
This is one of the most difficult questions to answer in Bowling at my Club i was told it was always a good to borrow as many sets of different Bowls and play a few friendlies to see what sort you get on well with, nothing worse than buying a set and then finding you cant get on with them,
I play with Classic Twos outdoors and they are very good but then I play frount end so not a lot of Help to you,
Great to see you join us on Worldbowler look forward to chatting.

Hi jd67,

Pleased to see you ask, all skips I know would not ask!!!!!!!

For me I use classic 2 some think they are straight I love the hook at the end but good for a running wood, be interested to see what you end up with.

Best of luck

Del:)
