The top looks great, but the skort as its called is just :( too short, would not want to be looking at someones knickers, for most of the match, might appeal to some men, with that sort of mind, need to keep some decency in the game.

Just had a look on an Australian site, this skort is a like shorts and skirt combined, it was approver[ by the the nation's governing body] and had the Bowls Australian LOGO on it, How can anyone object when it is an approved item of bowling clothing:rolleyes:, someone needs to get their head out of the sand, and back to this century, just a lot of ladies being jealous because they do not have the figure to wear these they look very comfortable.

Although quite an old thread, as an update it has been none stop raining, just easing off the last few days and catching up on a few missed games.
Although I can remember rain last year, I never had the problem of fitting in so many missed games in!!
Drying out, Barry:rolleyes:

I Noticed this thread which has been on a good while ago but what lovely photographs,
As for us Girls in the UK getting to wear the skort we should be so lucky it took us years and years to get permission to wear crops trousers and nearly as long to get approval to wear peaked caps,
It used to be calf length cream pleated skirts Horrendous Hats and tights gloves for receiving cups going to have a look and see if I can find a Photograph to let everyone know how ridiculous we looked its a wonder anyone ever took up the sport of Lawn Bowling

My God Kiwi Bowler are they Skirts or Hankies that these Girls are wearing
Cant see any of our Cornish Maids getting into something like this they a bit too fond of the Cornish Pasties over here,
Can see the Spectators crowding round our Bowling greens might put a bit of interest into the Sport.

Those three ladies are in very good shape. You may be surprised to know that their ages are 49, 47 and 28 and they are very fit!. Quite able to wear those uniforms and look good.:D

That sort of dress doesn't offend me however thankfully I can't imagine it becoming the norm.
Works for younger bowlers but not for the more mature and, dare i say it, less shapely bowlers.

Hi Everyone
I played Lawn Bowls in Turkey one year and took this photograph of the green I'm really glad we don't have hot weather over here in the UK
I dont think I could cope if the Bowlers at my Club decided to dress like this
Make your mind up folks.

Hi snapper, is this a private bowling green?, re the parking of the cars.
But anyway talking about the bowlers, I would be worried about getting sunburnt.....
Hi Kiwi bowler
This man looks like a white whale a typical Brit abroad sorry if I sound rude but the only thing I can say is thank god we have dress rules on our greens,
The thought of trying to consecrate on my game with someone who wore nothing but shorts is mind boggling,
Sam short for Samantha;)

Hi Kiwi bowler
We went on a late Holiday to Turkey and this bowling green was at a Hotel I thought this bowler was mad it was very hot and he was so white by the time he had finished he would have been burnt,
Mad Dog and English men fits the bill.
When I first started to bowl it was a man who got wearing shorts banned at my Club he came in wearing the shortest shorts I have ever seen caused quite a stir the committee had a rushed meeting and banned shorts for rolling up in and we also had to have shirts with collars with sleeves,
At Least the Ladies can now wear cropped trousers and after looking at Snappers picture i am quite relieved.
