Are you open yet!!!!

Probably one of the earliest to open in the U.K. must be the 'Newquay West End', bowling Club, opened on Saturday 28th of March 2010.
Magnificent position with breathtaking views perched on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Fistral SURFING beach, what a spot.

Put on a few pics, not only does it look good but bowls brilliant for this time of year!:D

One of the losing bowlers was heared to say 'he can only bowl in the rain'!!!

Great post surfer, and what an early opening!!!

We open this Saturday the 10th, expect it will be the usual the Club Captain throws up a couple of woods then the 'Green' then the green is closed for a week or so to Protect it!!!!!!

Don't know if I could bowl at the Newquay West End club, would get distracted with those tremendous views!:D

Bolton FLBC is having an official opening day on Sunday 11th but has only been closed for bowling during the Winter on days when the weather has been bad. Other than that the hardy Frostbiters have bowled all Winter on the artificial surface. By the way it is an Outdoor Green not Indoors.:p

Joined Falmouth Bowling Club one year it has an all weather artificial green, not as a full member but only to play in their Winter ladies league, Played two games in total, so wrapped up with lawyers of clothes you wouldn't believe what we looked like I could hardly bend down,
You have got to be a very hardy sort of Bowler to brave the elements in the Winter,
Do have great respect for Outdoor Winter Bowlers, but its not for me

Well done Snapper, not for me, I like the WARM indoor, I even complain if the heating is off a bit!!

Can't think these artificial outdoor are that popular in the U.K.!!

Hi surfer your green keeper has got to be pleased with the green it looks fantastic well looked after, ours has still got some damage from the frost and snow, and is still recovering,
Can see Artifical greens becoming the norm with the amount of work that needs to be done,
I would rather have grass any day.
