Good Evening All, :)

Just watched Cambridge beat Oxford in the 2010 Boat Race I have, I wasn't too happy an hour ago re. The Light Blues win, but I feel a long way better now.

I'm a new member, just today; and I take this opportunity to say hello to you all & in so doing I sincerely hope that you enjoy the best of the forthcoming outdoor season.

Only on other thing, I'm after (in good condition) a white heavy-weight indoor flat green jack, I've just had mine stolen. :( Needless to say 'reasonable purchase price' and postage will be immediately forthcoming.

Hoping you can assist.

Regards,

Shortjack. :o

Hi Shortjack,

Welcome aboard, (hope thats not an omen for our outdoor season)!!!!

Not sure what you mean with 'Only on other thing, I'm after (in good condition) a white heavy-weight indoor flat green jack' must assume it's for Crown Green Bowling???????????????

Also watched the boat race, good to see Cambridge come back and win!!

Hope you enjoy the site:D

Morning Shortjack and Welcome

We dont have any Crown Green Bowling down here in Devon so I don't know a lot about how Crown Green is Played, I couldn't believe someone had stolen your heavyweight Jack, in lawn Bowling the Club supplies jacks etc and I have never heard of one going missing, sorry I cant be of more help.

Hello Once Again,

Thank you to those who responded to my recent post re. obtaining, maybe, a used indoor bowling jack.

The jack in question (Stolen from my locker, along with other kit) is the same as used by such as Tony Allcock, Bryant, Alex Marshall & all the rest when indoor bowls was televised from, was it, Preston?

Nothing to do with crown green bowls, not biassed one bit, just as a normal EBA outdoor jack in appearance, but maybe a bit bigger & denfinitely heavier. Drakes Pride & Hensilite indoor jacks cost about £25 + postage, but in view of the fact that I've already got a mortgage I was looking for something a bit cheaper.

Maybe someone has one somewhere?

Regards,

SJ

Have been reading your post Shortjack I think a few Bowlers got the wrong idea what I think you are after is a jack that they use outdoor on a artificial green, we have four outdoor artificial greens down here in Cornwall and I remember one game when a Particular Bowler refused to come on the green because we had Thunder and Lighting he said because of the metal in the Jack we were at risk of being hit by lightning, got his leg pulled in the bar after the game but guess he had a point,
Good luck getting a replacement jack sure someone will have one tucked away somewhere,
