We have absolute Chaos in this years Club Competitions because of the Snow and bad weather some people were allowed an extension on the play by dates,
And now a few people have taken advantage I have to go away and am in four finals I have booked this holiday and am not going to cancel it because people cant be bothered to fit games in,
The Match Sectary told me in no uncertain terms that I should play these finals,
I don't know what is going to happen will have to think seriously about entering next year

I have been chasing a team for the last week trying to get our Club Triples game sorted out and all I am getting is excuses on why they cant play,
Am going to phone the match Start today to try and sort it out because I am getting no end of calls from the next team we should be playing

At my club if you haven't played by the play by date you are scratched out of the competition, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
P.S. think this thread is in wrong area:(

You have got to have firm rules in Competitions once someone gets an extension everyone wants one, and where does it end our Club has firm play by dates and all the Members know this,
Never know a Club not to have play by dates, then of course if there is weakness with the comps organizer and the dates are allowed to slip instead of players being scratched you get ANARCHY,
Play OR be scratched, quite simple.:)

Sounds good in theory but getting Players to stick by this rule is difficult Got one Member who is an Excellent Bowler and ends up in four of five
finals,
Thats when the trouble starts he cant possible play all games on finals day .

Its still like a mad house down my Club more and more people who are in finals cant play because they are away, the committee is thinking of letting individuals play these games as they like which means there wont be be any finals day great pity
still not sure what is going to happen,

It wouldn't be the same without a Final day when Bowling finishes for the Winter, we really look forward to ours,
Can see why they have strict play by dates for County and Nationals.

I spent all yesterday Bowling got home at half ten and collapsed on the sofa, it was Club Competitions Finals nearly forgot to wear whites until I got a last min phone call, then I couldn't find any ended up wearing white cropped trousers that I use for Holidays,
won one game but lost my singles was so tired I couldn't be bothered to walk up and look at the head,
Be glad when this week is over it was a shame because these game are finals and not one person was there to watch,

Morning Everyone
Its my last game today Indoors ladies Triples and I am pleased its coming to an end we have had people stomping out and refusing to play, people turning up expecting to play in finals only to discover the semis haven't been played yet,
Our match Sectary did rethink her decision and allowed Players to arrange some of the Finals before Finals day but its still a mess,
Our poor Organizer is getting so stressed goes to show why Bowls England have strict rules about play by dates,

Don't have a lot of sympathy Snapper, like I said earlier 'no matter what' if you have not played by the due date you are scratched.
I blame the committee for not ensuring the Comps Secretary stuck to the rules, they will end up losing a stressed out comps sec!!!

Looking forward to outdoor bowls now that the Indoor season is at an end, looking forward to the sun (I Hope) indoor is O.K. but do prefer the outdoor better atmosphere etc!!
Had a few issues in my club around the time of the bad weather, a few extensions were allowed then latter when other bowlers asked they were refused (fair) but emotions came into play and they pulled out.
Moral of the story, PLAY BY PLAY BY DATE OR BE SCRATCHED!!!:)

Wicker couldn't agree more pity it doesn't apply to all Bowlers we have had occasions where -Top Bowlers have been given extensions to play
by dates in Competitions, but other Bowlers in the same situation have been refused, Last year we lost a number of Members because of this
unfair practice.
This needs bringing up at the next AGM,
Great point Devon Bowler, problem in our club is that we are getting a bit thin on the ground for the teams so the 'PREMADONNAS' are having a field day, dictating when, where they will play etc!!!
So now we have the same thing with the backbone of the club refusing to play for the club etc etc, won't be long before the selectors are going to have a nightmare picking a team!! (there to BLAME)!!!:D

Same Old thing its the Club competitions and again certain people are being given extensions to play by dates last year it was ridiculous and this year one competition is already three weeks past the play by date, we have to play the winner of this competition by next sat,
And they haven't played yet I am going to make a stand on this if someone cant play they should get a sub in,
Fed up with trying to organize games

Sounds Quakers to Me!!!!
Sorry 'The Duck couldn't resit it!!
In my club it's play by the date or be struck from the competition!!
Nobody is to keen as there are good arguments, sickness/rain/snow/etc but NO EXTENSIONS everyone knows where they stand and all games are played on time!!!!

What we are finding is that some successful Bowlers are giving out ultimatums that they will only play in important games but not the ladies leagues
This is very unfair on the rest of the Club members who turn out rain or shine in all weathers to represent their Club,
I personally think club committees should discuss this and decide if these players should be able to cherry pick what games they play in.
