Hi Surfer,

I have been bowling for over 20 years, and strictly a one club man. We are a small club, with, prior to last season just 20 male members and 7 ladies, but we still give account of ourselves in league games. Also seldom a weekend goes by without a friendly match being played.

At the start of the 2008 season we were lucky to pick up 12 new players from a local club the had to withdraw due to falling membership, most of the new members were not interested in Wednesday league games, but were happy to play Tuesday afternoon triples, and friendlies.

As I said we are a small club, we were a hospital club till the hospital was closed in 1997, all maintainance we do ourselves, including greenkeping
4 years ago we rebuilt the clubhouse as it was a 75 year old timber built one, 2 years prior to that we gug out our grass banks and hand made concrete ones, both these projects took up the entire winter to complete.
OK thats enough from me for now as I expect you will be getting bored by too long a missive.

I will sign off while I'm holding, Regards Frank. :)

Evening Pemcol

Good to hear from you got to say your Club sounds a lot like what we have down here in Cornwall, know one small Village Club where the Club house is two second hand porter Cabins put together changing rooms are wooden sheds but it works well its coming to the end of its days now and they find it hard to keep patching it up,
We are lucky at our Club we had the parks committee fund a new Club house its a Wooden structure but we are not complaining, Only problem we have is parking being a Seaside town its all yellow lines and three pounds to park in our one and only car park,
Got to say sorry as well i am rambling on a bit been, playing up in Newquay Indoors today in the mixed league not doing so well get fed up coming second,
Looking forward to some more Bowling Conversations
