Can Cold water Wash Dishes?
August 22, 2008 by Worldbowler · Leave a Comment
This is for all the germ conscious folks who worry about
using cold water to clean.
Terry went to visit his 90-year-old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area of North Renfrew.

After spending a great evening chatting the night away, Terry’s grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast.

However, Terry noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, ‘Are these plates clean?’
His grandfather replied, ‘They’re as clean as cold water can get’ em. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!’
For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, Terry was concerned about the plates as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, ‘Are you sure these plates are clean?’
Without looking up the old man said, ‘I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don’t you fret, I don’t want to hear another word about it!’
Later that afternoon, Terry was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather’s dog started to growl, and wouldn’t let him pass.
Terry yelled and said, ‘Grandfather, your dog won’t let me get to my car’.
Without diverting his attention from the football game he was watching on TV, the old man shouted,

Bowls Clothing
August 9, 2008 by Worldbowler · 1 Comment
Upon reaching a certain level of bowling ability, it is likely that you will become a member of a team and start to bowl more frequently. This will enhance the need for you to consider the correct equipment and bowls clothing required to perform in comfort and in any weather or game conditions.
In previous years a game of bowls would have certainly been cancelled if the bowls green was waterlogged, however now with more people involved in the sport and with more competitions falling on weekends, it is vital to keep delays and cancellations to a minimum.
If fixtures are not completed on the dates arranged, it is not only an inconvenience to the club secretaries and players but often dates can not be re-scheduled to suit everyone, due to other commitments, so the “show really must go on” and bowlers should be prepared to bowl in all weather conditions and have the right clothes.
